i'm probably not saying this right, but i'd like to know how to set up an automatic process that allows people to purchase an ebook and once the payment has been approved, the ebook is mailed to them automatically or they get an automatic email with a link of the page to download the book from.

Do you already have a payment processor, because I believe several of the 3rd party processors have some sort of membership option which can do what you are describing. I think....

no, i haven't selected a payment plan, but while i was checking out paypal, i noticed that they have some 3rd party scripts, and i think at least one of them was made specifically for this.
