Hello all,
As I don't really want to buy Microsoft Office I decided to give OpenOffice a try. The word processor and spreadsheet software works great, however the database software really isn't up to par. It won't even start for me. I may have to reinstall it.
Does anyone have any other office style programs? I only really need a word processor, spreadsheet and database software.

I can't really reccommend anything other than MS Office and OpenOffice. You could try Microsoft Works, its a really dumbed down version of MS Office and i'm not even sure if it has database...or spreadsheet for that matter, I haven't used it in a while.

Take a look at 602software (http://www.software602.com) look at their 602 pc suite. It has been a long time since I used it (I now use a Mac :clap: ) but when I did, they had a good data base system and word processor.
It does cost a little, Starts at $39.95 US & comes with a 30 day free trial.

You can get office 2007 for free (it is legal beta). That would at least let you have free office until Jan/Feb 2007, I believe.

When you say "Database software" do you mean an equivalent to MS Access? Something with such a interface for free is going to be hard to come by...
