is it just me or is webreseller.net down?

its 4:15 AM CST and i can't reach my server or thier site, anyone know what is up?

a few hours later, but, it works fine and fast for me.

do a tracert if it's still down and see exactly what hop you get lost on. perhaps it's something relating to your connection..

ah. yipes is so fast from europe, it's refreshing. well, actually the "cheap" providers all seem to be good from my connection in europe. cogent, aleron, yipes. good stuff.

yipes actually is not that 'cheap' - they use level3 ..:)

oh yeah, i know they peer to level3. and i know they're not THAT cheap.

however, for some reason, the status quo on WHT is to lump them in with cogent and aleron and other of the "cheap" providers.

i hope that yipes pulls through well from their reorganization.

it was thier network asi could'nt hit it via other servers i have shells on.

backup now wierd.

On 05/30/02 Yipes will be replacing our Juniper Routing Engine in the Philadelphia POP. This will cause a re-convergence to services for approximately 45 seconds.

dont these guys have a backup-line in place? :eek:

I didn't notice any downtime on my server in Webreseller. AFAIK if Yipes' Level3 connection is down, they still have Genuity as backup. Anyway, I think 45 seconds of downtime due to scheduled maintenance is still reasonable.

:eek: we dont need backup lines, as we run bgp4 with our multiple connections.

FYI, i was not bashing the thread, i was just wondering as you said they were changing the Yikes router, it should not effect the backup line...

Like people have said, its a public forum and we are open to our opinion :D

Riiiiiiiiiiiiight... You weren't bashing at all. Maybe you should make your network redundant before you go bashing other peoples? More than one provider doesn't make your network redundant.

Some people, have a problem reading and understanding ENGLISH ... Sorry cant help you with that. :rolleyes:

As for our network, i dont see where that comes in with webreseller, but since you asked, it has been upgraded as promised with CISCO 2948/2924 Level3 Switches, 4912 Pure GIG switches etc.. and OSPF (this is currently being tested and our new Project Mecury will be on this, and slowly move all servers over)

Webreseller.net was not down, and this post should be closed.

Our scheduled maintence, would be the only reason why we would be down and that was for a few minutes at most. Plus we have notifications for all maintence.

For future issues contact are support dept or u can contact me direct.

In regards to yipes and connectivity we will be adding another carrier sometime after June 15th. We have about 99.9999% uptime, and our network is extremely fast. Also just because u have bgp4 doesnt mean that downtime cant happen,

How would you even know about our network redundancy? I welcome you to look at the network diagram located at http://www.globalcompass.com/network.htm. This diagram is fully accurate, and shows that our network is fully redundant.

I'll have to assume Tim is talking about another thread, as I certainly don't see the bashing in this thread. If that's the case, then the issue should have been brought up in that thread, not this one.

Honestly, it seems all of that has very little to do with the thread at all. Itseems to have spun off a redundant comment, however I'm not sure I can remove these posts.

Well, all issues seemed solved anyhow, rather than spend time picking through the posts to clean the thread a bit of the OTness, I think it can just be locked up... no worries...
