I have heard about readyhosting provding 500mb for $99 per year with CF, ASP support. I have a site to host that contains around 100mb of database (SQL Server) using Cold Fusion. I estimate 40,000 hits per day. Can anybody suggest is it wise to host on Readyhosting.

I need the advice quickly as Jan 31 is the last date of their setup fee discount

Thanks

i am currently hosting a site with them, and had no probs so far. the only prob is, because of the low price, i believe many people have signed up. it's pratically imp0ossible to get a call through. also their servers are kinda slow. if you don't mind the non existent service, i think it's a good bang for the buck.

CERTIFIED CF TAGGER, would it be possible to re-type that post without the caps lock pressed? You do know that all caps means "yelling"? So are you yelling? If not, please edit your post.

Thanks for your comments - Actually I want a fast server beacause my site will be very busy one and it will accessed from Pakistan and India so the distance factor should also be kept in mind.

Please advice servers for Cold Fusion and SQL Server that are more reliable fast and economical

Thanks

With 40,000 unique hits a day you may want to look at a dedicated server.

$99/yr. whoooo... well that's less than $10/mo and I think if you really want to have a solid site that can support that many visitors, you are going to have to be willing to up the ante on your investment. The amount you are asking about won't even buy you a pizza once a month...

If the site is important, then treat it as if it were and don't try to cheap out. It simply won't work to your satisifaction in the end -nor to your 40,000 visitors per day.

I'm not saying that the host you are looking at won't cut it. I really don't know. All I'm saying is that if I had a site that got 40,000 uniques a day, I'd have it on something solid.

I haven't seen your site so I may not "know what Im talking about" but do you have advertising on your site? if you had a banner from example everyone.net you could earn some money for a better server, cause as Chicken mentioned...I would use a dedicated server for this load.

Good Luck

This is probably the best advice given here! Everything in life costs money. If you are looking to save a few dollars/month, that's great, but don't do it at the expense of your site. After all, what will you really be gaining? Frustration that your ste can't handle the hits because of the money you saved?

Everyone likes to save money, but in the end, you get what you pay for...usually.

Well if I were you I would get on something that is pay-per-GB of transfer. You are going to do a BUNCH of transfering if you are are getting 40k unique. At the least with 40,000 unique hits you should pull in 50-$100 a day anyhow.
