View Full Version : Anyone hosting with itricks.net ? Look very attractive indeed.
Raydon 05-31-2002, 08:46 PM Looking for a cheap host and think itricks meet my requirement perfectly, but i'm not sure about their services and support. Their price is one of the lowest i have seen.
i need:
100MB
3GB Bandwidth
20 email accounts
20 sub domains
5 FTP accounts
5 mySQL
web based control (preferably cpanel)
perl
php
web statistic
SSI
Frontpage
Any comments on itricks ?? Hoping for your valuable advice.

chrisb 06-08-2002, 06:19 AM I think you can save yourself some trouble when selecting a host based on their name. I mean what reputable company would use the name "itricks". Maybe they want to trick you and run off with your money.:(
I know some will think that rejecting a company based on their name is ridiculous and over-reaching; but I just recently saw complaints about a host called something "curve". I guess they throw their customers curve balls. :bawling:
otherground 06-08-2002, 10:15 AM chrisb ... i was was thinking the same exact thing ... why not just go all the way and name yourself "scamhost.com" or "flybynight.biz"
i probably shouldn't talk ... all too often i have the following conversation:
person: so whats the name of your company ?
me: otherground.
person: underground ?
me: "other" "ground".
person: two words?
me: one word.
person: why did you name it that ?
me: !@#$%^
chrisb 06-08-2002, 10:53 AM Yeah, I already own a fairly good domain name, similar to topwebsource, but wanted something shorter that had the word host in it. Almost all of the good ones are taken; and since my logo is a diamond, I thought of diamondhosting, but that's a bit too long for me, so I thought OK... diahost would be great then, and to my surprise, it was available. Then I saw it and laughed... die a host... I don't think so. Another bad name I thought of was exithost.
gnorthey00 06-08-2002, 11:14 AM What about, hinNrunhost.com :)
otherground 06-08-2002, 02:21 PM that gives me an idea ... what if someone registered something like ... ohfortheloveofgodthishostsucks.com
and redirected it somewhere ... like *****'s web site for instance ...
would that be illegal ?
i hope i didnt spark a new internet revolution ...
otherground 06-08-2002, 02:22 PM it appears that host is banned ... lol ... it's probably better that way anyway ...

Moderators: Please close this thread, as it is the incorrect place to discuss personal matters.
It's not a personal matter and you are not really endearing yourself to other WHT members. Rather than throwing back accusations and saying "It's not my fault", you should be explaining yourself in more detail and in a more cordial tone.
This place can make you or break you and it looks like cracks are appearing at itricks. ;)

Ya, but it's nicely to the point, gotta give it that.
Yes, I give it that, very blunt.
