Hi there, i run ukhosttalk.co.uk which at present is for hosts and customers, a uk version of wht if u like.
However it is mainly dominated by hosts and we get very few customers lurking around, which is making us think of turning it into a hosts only forum.
Would any of u be interested in this, a place 2 discuss probs etc that you wouldnt want your customers 2 see, any ideas are appreciated

I could see it as a viable alternative.
Certainly whould separate the spammers from those truly interested in gaining support from their peers and offering help in the same.
I say; go for it!

the only problem lies in how 2 make revenue from it as you cant exactly advertise hosting companies to hosts

But, if you 'need' income from advertising, I'm sure there are a lot of things that hosts use that would welcome the oportunity to advertise to such a targeted audience.

to start with i dont need income from it but i dont have a dedicated server and if it gets busy i wont be able to host it myself which will make it expensive
Any ideas for forums or categories that people would particularly like to see?????

Hello,
Thats a great idea. I would join this forum... let me know when it is all setup. One particular forum topic I would like to see would be troublesome clients... I have an ex-client that I would be posting information about. Not a place to complain about greivances, but a place to post actual evidence and experiences to warn other hosts.
Best of luck.
P.S. I might be able to do some advertising with you at some point...

I for one think it is a great idea. To be able to discuss the problems of handling
difficult clients and even warning others about certain people who have a habit of
signing up with a new host every month or so. As for advertising , I am sure there are
enough developers who would be glad to advertise their products to a target
audience of web hosts.
I for one would join.

sorry the old site has been taken down at the moment while i put up the new board and set up the various features needed to keep it hosts only.
I will post a new thread when the board is up and running
