I am needing some advice about when to go for dedicate and if I still get to offer the same level of services with a dedicated box as virtual hosting.. I need Win2k mainly (for the e-commerce sites I develop) but want to offer low price high quality unix / linux hosting as well.. for people of the street..

Now what do I look for from a provider? (help here please)

I know I need the following…. I would like a lot of control over the box, i.e. manage the hosting experience for the customer (that’s what they expect). i.e. control over sub domains, multi domain names pointing to one IP address (site), I need access to SSL, password protected directories, cgi scripts, ASP and .net, MS-Access and SQL, I need good web stats reporting, my own re-branded webmail and Control Panel… FTP access..

I will need to access this as administrator so I can help them reset any lost passwords, block access to unpaid accounts, add new accounts quickly easily.. (automated processing of this would be great..)

I will have a mix of customer’s some will want to admin aspects of their own hosting i.e. update/admin pop3 accounts etc..

The main thing is I want to total (well as much as physically possibly) brand the hosting as my own..

Am I asking for too much.. or am I on target?

I was looking to co-locate boxes originally here in Australian, the set-up costs are way to high.. Hence I am looking OS (USA) for a full solution provider who has the scale to provide me with all the services I need at a price my customers can afford..

All comments very welcome..

The only windows host I know of around these parts is http://rackmy.com . You could check them out I guess. There maybe other windows hosts around here. I'm not sure. :)
