View Full Version : How does this registrar keep it's ICANN accreditation?
Techno 06-23-2006, 02:50 PM Most of my wiki spam and comment spam orginates with Russian domains registered with estdomains.com. A Google and Google-Groups search on estdomains+spam yields many results. Estdomains has a Delaware WHOIS address but the contact info on their site is in Estonia. Many of the domains are .US ie INSURANCE-ALL.US , casino-player.us but have Russian WHOIS contact info. Their nameservers are also companies registered thru estdomains.com. Maybe I should give them the benefit of the doubt but to me they seem to be in cahoots.
You could always complain to the .us registry about the fact that they are not US citizens nor have businesses in USA.

I would also suggest filing a whois complaint at http://wdprs.internic.net/
The complaint will be on record with ICANN and the registrar will be notified directly by ICANN to investigate.

They only deal with com/net/org (wouldn't even accept a complaint about a .info domain last time I tried). No use if the spam comes from ccTLD domains (such as .us)
Stan Marsh 06-24-2006, 07:20 AM I see somebody still thinks about Estonia as part of Russia (it never was, for the starters)...
A short geography/history lesson: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estonia

I understood the OP as saying that the REGISTRANTS have addresses in Russia (.ru) whereas the REGISTRAR (Estdomains) has a Whois address in Delaware but an office address in Estonia (.ee). In other words - a case of Russian registrants using a registrar next door in Estonia.

Not true...As a registrar, I receive complaints for other TLDS' other than CNO, through that form.

 Re-read. I do not need a geography lesson. I did not say that Estonia was part of Russia. I said the spam domains were mainly from Russia and the registrar from Estonia. In the 2 examples I gave one is in Russia and the other in Bermuda (not part of Russia last time I checked).

Sorry. I stay corrected and admit now that somebody needs reading lessons. :P
Sorry again.

the form work for other extensions I see
Lubeca 06-25-2006, 05:00 AM OK, I stand corrected - it now accepts .info, which it didn't a year or so ago when I tried it. However, it still doesn't work for .us (which is what this thread was all about):
Sorry, but the Whois Data Problem Report tool cannot currently be used to submit reports for domain names in the TLD (us) you entered. Please contact the relevant registrar or registry directly for assistance.
Dave Zan 06-27-2006, 06:34 AM Have you asked estdomains about this? What have they said?
01globalnet 06-27-2006, 07:30 AM I had (and still have) similar problems with estdomains. They are spamming all the time in my clients' guestbooks. I had contacted them and promised to remove my sites from spam lists!!
For a week or so did not receive so many spam posts, but later........ aargh!!
