Hello,

I have recently got a dedicated server and am going to place it in a DC. I have played around with different control panels and decided that cPanel is the one for me. However the prices are silly. All i want is to be able to use it on my sever and sell shared hosting accounts. The cheapest i have found it $52 per month!!!

Am i being stupid or is that the normal type of price?

Does your dedicated server provider not offer cPanel as an option?

Those prices sound pretty normal to me. If I ever had the money to do so, I would buy the owned license for CPanel. That way you dont have to worry about monthly fees. You just paying over $1000 :)

Is CPanel a must? There are other control panels you could look into installing...

That is about the cheapest you are going to get, I have seen then down to as much as $49.

If you go to a DC and lease from someone it generally runs $10-$25/month. With your colocated server you will need to either lease or buy a lifetime license, if you are in it for the long run obviously the lifetime is the better deal.

Have a look at ServerCP by Zervex

www.zervex.com

I believe it's oly $9.95/month or $150 one-time. It also runs on Linux just like Cpanel.

Best of luck :)
