I know that for a regular webdesign-hosting company, local advertising is the way to go for customers. What do I do for a server management company to bring in customers? What kind of advertising budget should I have and who should I go to for the most targeted customers? Any help would be great. Thanks

Try to work your way into dedicated server providers and see if you can't start offering trial periods.

As Cybex said, contacting dedicated providers is a good idea.
Also, contacting larger web hosts who may be looking to outsource.

You may also consider WHT for advertising.

You're basically looking to through up your name on places that already have a concentration in web services or hosting. Advertising your services on a MySpace site or blog wouldn't work so well ;)

Participation in forums like WHT, with your sig. Never underestimate that method. It's probably the most cost effective, targetted exposure youre business will ever receive. Also by participating in forums such as WHT, you're also learning from others. :)

Yeah, try advertising in smaller sites, then after getting higher population and money, go for a bigger website advertising.

After, you should make your own affiliation program.

Look at your current clients and note the trend as far as demographics go. If, for example, the majority of your clients are in the 18-25 age range, you should seriously consider targeting that particular demographic. WHT is an excellent place to advertise. Another good place (though this may be pricy) is a nationally popular magazine. You can literally call up a place like PC Magazine and ask what kind of people read their magazine. They will send you a whole bunch of information literally pointing out who will be seeing your ad in that publication. Advertising is expensive. You're going to need at least $1,000 to run a decent campaign of banners, and publication adverts. Mind you, the $1,000 won't run your ads for more than two months. There are also some smaller-key ways to advertise, like posting here, or a web-based marketing network like Adwords or Adsense. When it comes to marketing, you have to be clever. It can cost you a pretty penny if you don't research marketing possibilities, and will be even worse when you find out that your ad wasn't sensible, or was simply placed somewhere potential clients won't see it. Good luck.

Thanks a lot for your help. I think i might get a advertising profesional to help me get my site going as soon as possible. I am sure most of my campaign will be adwords or something similar. Thanks
