View Full Version : Unable to find a suitable billing software.
illogix 06-22-2006, 07:43 PM Hi,
We have ran through a couple of billing system without any luck. We are looking for features that don't seem to exist in any billing solution. If you know of a software with the following features, let me know:
- Billing in two currencies (CAD and USD).
- Full support for two languages (English and french). No babelfish translations like ClientExec and Modernbill and no english hard coded into images.
- Integrated helpdesk is a plus.
Is there such software ?
Ryan Smith 06-22-2006, 08:49 PM You can try whmcs, ( http://whmcs.com ) but I'm not sure about the currencies. You may not be able to find one that supports currencies.
illogix 06-22-2006, 08:57 PM From what I can see on their website, it does not seem to support multiple languages and mutiple currencies, so none of the above requirements.
WHMCS-Matt 06-23-2006, 06:04 AM WHMCS does support multiple languages. It even comes ready with an English and French Translation so you won't need to do any translating yourself. The option to allow users to change the language can be disabled so this was probably disabled by someone in the demo.
As for multiple currencies, WHMCS does not currently support this. It does however have a fully integrated help desk with support ticket system, knowledgebase system, announcements & server status page. 2 out of 3 ain't bad! :)

bigdeal 06-24-2006, 01:32 PM If you want to go for a control panel with an accompanying billing system then I would suggest Hosting Controller.
It gives you support for multiple languages such as English and French and billing for different resellers in two currencies.
mrzippy 06-24-2006, 03:26 PM If you can wait a month or two, I think the new www.modernbill.com will be pretty decent. It will support multi-currency and multi-language. (Not sure when the integrated helpdesk will be finished, but it's planned...)
Might take 2 - 6 months before it's ready for production use though.
BluewaveHosted 06-24-2006, 03:47 PM try LpanelDOTnet they are great!
Sohan 06-24-2006, 04:46 PM Wait for MB v5. The things you will be able to do with that, you will be shocked.
illogix 06-25-2006, 11:39 PM WHMCS does support multiple languages. It even comes ready with an English and French Translation so you won't need to do any translating yourself. The option to allow users to change the language can be disabled so this was probably disabled by someone in the demo.

Matt, is the French translation a real one or was it made with a translation tool like babelfish ?
illogix 06-25-2006, 11:55 PM Also, it looks like WHMCS only works with CPanel. We are using DirectAdmin, will it also work if we don't need automatic account creation ?
AlexBlom 06-26-2006, 02:13 AM WHMCS should work on Direct Admin without automatic setup.
WHMCS-Matt 06-26-2006, 02:48 AM Hi,
The French Translation is a real translation by a native French speaker. That is the same for all translations in WHMCS which include: English, French, Italian, Spanish, Norweigan, Turkish & Indonesian. You are of course free to make any changes you like to any of the text in the language file if it isn't quite worded as you want.
As for working on DirectAdmin, WHMCS will do that no problem. Hopefully V2.5 will support automatic account creation and suspension/termination on DirectAdmin but that is yet to be confirmed.

gbjbaanb 06-26-2006, 08:34 AM I did a search for DirectAdmin on the WHMCS forum... I found 3 interesting comments by Matt :) "DA will not be supported, "WHM" in WHMCS tells you why", followed by the same, followed by "WHM stands for WebHosting Master, so we will support DA".
I'm just glad you changed your mind in supporting DA, good for you. I look forward to version 2.5 when it arrives.
WHMCS-Matt 06-26-2006, 01:51 PM lol! You got me! :) It has been decided now that WHMCS will support the other major panels - DirectAdmin being one of them. It is not confirmed for being in V2.5 yet, it will really be down to a case of it we get time to implement it before the release date but it won't be too long before support for both DirectAdmin and Plesk is added to the ever expanding WHMCS system.
Matt
gbjbaanb 06-26-2006, 03:19 PM I understand DA is very easy to automate - so I hope you'll try it first. Good luck.
