Hi,

I am thinking to start web hosting business. Is re-selling better or co-location/dedicated server ?

Can somebody provide me with a check-list of technical things to do for starting my business. Do I need to buy a whole bunch of IP address from my fone company for domain names to be hosted by me ? What software packages I would need ? Is Win2K better or Lynix etc....

Appreiate your help ;)

If you are just starting out, then by all means, just go with a reseller account at some webhosting company.

Search the boards, im sure you will find one that suits your needs.

besides, a reseller account will allow you to get a feel for the market and a grasp on the hosting game in general before you go off and spend a lot of money on servers and co-location.

Hope this is helpful :)

Based on what you just said, I believe a reseller account or a completely managed dedicated server service would be what you need.

No offense to you, Okarvi. But, if you don't have a clue, you should at least get that first.

Yes, SoftwareReveu is right. IMMERSE yourself in this forum for a couple of months before you do anything. Consider this your research. It'll save you money in the long run, IMO. :)
