I've used oscommerce for 3 years, and just switched to zencart.
Zencart as a lot more features, and it's easier to modify the layout.
But on the other side, oscommerce has more contributions.

What will say about Zen is validating and OScommerce do not validates seems very old html code ? Is this important for the choice as long as better coding means better search engine optimization ?

Recommend the OsCommerce cause it's faster and you can find more contributions for it.

Get Oscommerce CRE Loaded version 6.2 and you'll have so many more bells and templates and other add ons then the older versions 3.xxx etc..

Agree with above. ZenCart is very easy to modify from the designers point of view, mean template integration, while Oscommerce is a hard one for this. And ZenCart have lots of features implemented for Osc as cocntributions which are not very stable and buggy for osc.

Oscommerce rocks!
