Hello all,

I have been a long time WHT member, designing templates, developing sites, and coding for hosts since the first day I joined WHT. I found that I have grown a huge interested in the hosting industry and want to gain some experience in it. I have interacted with many hosts over time; both as a customer and a developer.

To elaborate on my previous experience, I have been a designer for almost 5 years and a programmer for about 7 years. My experience as a developer ranges from graphics design in Photoshop/Illustrator, simple Flash work, HTML/CSS, php/MySQL, Scheme, C++, Java, and Visual Basic. I have created a relatively large design portfolio and helped develop several php/MySQL scripts. I am an experienced Windows-based computer user; building PCs and troubleshooting Windows machines for friends and family has become the 'normal' when I am not at school.

Summer break is time for me to start gaining more clients and start raising money to help pay my tuition. I am currently a Computer Engineering major at Georgia Institute of Technology who graduated with an International Baccalaureate diploma in high school. I have a high aptitude for learning and am interested in finding an internship or a cooperative program with a host so that I can gain some more experience in this industry.

I have tried reselling for other hosts but found that I do not learn anything about being a real host - and this definately did not interest me at all. I have 'helped' friends who bought dedicated servers, but realized that was limited in learning experience. I wish to find a host who is willing to sacrifice minimal amount of time in giving me the ins-and-outs of the hosting industry - What I am looking for is about couple days of minimal training (or mentoring) in the hosting industry without pay and then hoping that I have learned the essentials, if possible, be hired with a minimal wage as technical support personnel to increase my experience. If not, then I will be a volunteer ;)

I hope someone is willing to lend a hand for my interest in this industry - I am sure that I can bring in positive relationship in between those who offer me a learning and possibly a working position.

I prefer all comments or questions to be outside of this forum - please either email me or simply message me through ICQ or AIM. I hope to hear from some of you soon! :)

Also, I should add that I have plenty of experience with the frontend usage of CPanel/WHM and Plesk Reseller/User control panels.

Thank you,
