eNom
$195 Prepaid to get @ 9.95
$495 Prepaid to get @ 8.95
$995 Prepaid to get @ 7.95
$1595 Prepaid to get @ 6.95

OnlineNIC
$79.90 Prepaid to get @ 7.99
$187.25 Prepaid to get @ 7.49
$349.50 Prepaid to get @ 6.99
$669 Prepaid to get @ 6.69

Directi
$199 Prepaid to get @ 8.99
$499 Prepaid to get @ 6.99
$1499 Prepaid to get @ 6.75
$2999 Prepaid to get @ 6.49

GoDaddy (I do not understand clearly it's prepaid or not)
$99 to get @ 7.75
$199 to get @ 7.00

I can imagine Directi and OnlineNIC are the most cost effective for the prepaid amounts. However, I want to know why people favor eNom over other registrars.

And is there any other cost effective registrars that can get at the price below 6.95 with the deposit under $500 and would anybody mind to list here ?

Never less
Directi
The Onlinenic whois server i used for months is not high rated in qualitiy.

Directi is much more often better then others.

Nothing to say enom never worked with them directly.

You are asking about registrar or registrar reseller programs? Directi gives you the cheapest reseller domains. Enom gives you the best reseller API and Control Panel. What are your priorities?

Also, I'm not sure if you are comparing apples and oranges because the Enom prices you quote are to buy you into those rates from the getgo. You don't need to buy into those rates. You can make a larger prepaid deposit to get those rates, which imho, is much better than throwing your money down the drain.

If you are thinking about using GoDaddy, I would recommend looking for a reseller of them as you can get the same sevice for lower prices on a lot of things.

I use RegisterFly.com for all of my domains. They do have a reseller package for a low price I found out the other day. I think thats what your looking for if I'm not mistaken.

It was my mistake about mentioned "Prepaid" for eNom. The amounts mentioned for eNom are FEEs and not prepaid. The correct prepaid amount for eNom are as follows:
$1495 Deposit to get @ 8.95
$3975 Deposit to get @ 7.95
$6995 Deposit to get @ 6.95

I have both of sub-reseller (7.95) and direct ETP accounts (8.95) from eNom and I do enjoy their control panel and swiftness of DNS replication. Most of the times, once I do the registration at eNom, the domains are accessible within a few hours or not more than 24 hours whereas I had tried Directi and EV1 before and it takes almost 48 hours.

I am not much worrying about the reseller control panel or API yet as I am providing managed services and I do not need to provide the control panel to the customers yet. The primary concern is how fast I can access the domain after the initial registration and how many records I can initially use up from the registrar's control panel before pointing to my own name server.

I had used EV1's domain registrations before and the price was indeed the lowest. However, they do not provide any dns management facility and have to use my own name servers. On top of that, they do not provide centralized domain management for all of the domains I own and have to manage them individually which is a serious drawback. (Ofcause, with that price, I cannot expect much.)

So with my experiences with eNom, their domain registration is very quick and I can access the domains within a few hours after the initial registration and their control panel is quite great. However, I would like to have alternative registrar, (but yet reliable), offering $6.xx pricing scheme with lower deposit amounts along with a control panel which is not so poor.

I had some experiences with Directi in the past and their control panel also not so bad but I have no experiences with after their resellerclub. (May be better or worst?)

So, please share your experiences with the registrars of Directi, RegisterFly, NameCheap, GoDaddy, and others alike them, in terms of their initial deposit amount to get 6.xx pricing scheme and control panel.

This is simply not correct. I have tried them both (infact I am still using DirectI) and propagations are INSTANT. Once the domain registration is finished and DNS at the receiving end are configured to receive the traffic, you can type in the name and be directed to your new site. It takes 2-3 SECONDS at most. 48 hours is NONSENSE. Sorry for pointing that out.

Perhaps you'll like to speak with your ISP about caching of DNS results?

Thanks for the comment on that. I also had some doubts of the DNS caching issues from ISPs. So, at least, I can assume that I can expect the similar instant DNS propagation period from Directi then.

Do you have any suggestions on the better deal for 6.xx reseller pricing schemes in contrast with Directi? So far, I have a sense of $499 deposit for $6.99 deal is the better deal than any other reseller schemes. But it would nice to know other good deals too.

I would not consider namecheap anymore as it is just a reseller of enom and I prefer my own accounts at enom than their pricing.

Any comments about RegisterFly here and their deals? And does their FlyPack amounts are get-to-go fees or the deposit amounts?

What about GoDaddy and why everybody has bad experiences with them? And what is the best deal with their domain reseller programs?

I think, you have tried almost all registrars along your way to the business and I do notice, you may have many experiences to share here.

What about Stargate? They are also an ICANN registrar but seems like just a differnet name with the same Control Panel and API as Directi. Their pricing is $500 for $6.95 pricing scheme in comparison to Directi's $499 for $6.99 scheme.

From the four registrar's posted above - I would choose enom.

They are using the same control panel by LogicBoxes, but are entirely separate entity. I would chose them, over DirectI.

The timing is not true for Enom either. It's immediate.

Don't Enom still operate the scheme whereby the more domains you register (approx equivalent to the prepaid number of domains), then you move to the next lower pricing band. If they do, I'd probably stick with your ETP account and reg all your domains there. Ok, you lose a bit a money for each domain in the beginning, but can make that back after you get to the lower rates.

Their Control Panel and DNS is superswift and easier to use than any other registrar. It's why I'm moving all my domains to them.

One advise i forgot in my other post, in Godaddy you can consolidate Expiring Dates in com and net domains, sometimes i transfer to them for use that feature and use a -10 usd coupn in 50 usd purchase.
