View Full Version : the math of the shack
rackvillage 05-30-2002, 12:58 PM Rackshacks pricing is simply to gain market share. Unfortunatly, in a service based biz, if you play the numbers game, you will just max out your client base. When your customer service is over worked, every additional client over the threashold will complain about service and leave. The more clients they bring on, the more HR they require, and their price point doesnt allow a massive staff. We will see Rackshack having some issues quite soon.. dont compete in price... compete in service.

clocker1996 05-30-2002, 12:58 PM ok..?
dektong 05-30-2002, 01:05 PM i highly doubt rackshack will have some problems in the near future. According to the financial report, they do have a big net positive income for the first quarter this year.
cheers,

Why are you blatently advertising in here?
porcupine 05-30-2002, 01:28 PM Oh, one more thing i forgot to add. If you dont approve of rackshacks business model (i just noticed this going to your site), why is it that you're attempting to directly compete with their setups, etc. And how are you affiliated with 'kikko' (i've heard that name somewhere, but im too lazy to search for it, but i was under the impression it was one of those "bad" names). :)
This looks more like a troll to get some attention to yourself and your company to me then anything else  :crap:
Oh well, maybe im far off the bat, just what it looks like from my vantage point :D

No offense Dan, but you may want to go back to Math 101. Fuzzy math is never good in business. Volume speaks for itself with RS>
Also, I fail to see what you offer that is so different from RS? Honestly. Same crap with Cogent BW. You even have a ***** type offer. Buy one server, get one free.
Why talk crap about RS, wwhen your sh** stinks too?

The numbers have been worked through quite a few times on these boards, and they have proven to be profitable. I think you have it backwards. When RS gains marketshare, they require less HR per customer because they can be more efficient.
Here's one thing I love about rackvillage's website:
Partners:
Intel, Cisco, Ensim, Ubersmith
yeah, i'd like to see that....
masterhost 05-30-2002, 02:52 PM Intel and Cisco dont usually partner with resellers:)

At least RackShack doesn't rely solely on Cogent...
clocker1996 05-30-2002, 03:23 PM well they are pushing out a lot of bw with cogent

For heaven's sake... yet another jealous host that simply can't complete starting a thread about how terrible rackshack is. Yes, they are a host. No they've never used Rackshack (but that won't stop 'em from having an opinion just like ******** -everyone's got one. Yes, these are the Kikko people (renamed but apparently the same old garbage).
Dan, troll elsewhere. You made yourself look like a fool and I'll do you a favor and close this thread up for you.
Like RS or not (I personally don't have an opinion either way), if you are a host, don't you think you wouldn't appreciate another host spouting off at the mouth their garbage opinions about your company? It seems obvious. Seeeeeeems...
