What does everyone think about audio on a web site. I dont mean "eye of the tiger" in the background but an imformative short speech? Thanks.

If clear and optional it could be useful.

You might try making it optional, and with a very clear and obvious button to play it. Then check logs and see how many of your visitors actually choose to hear it. If it proves not to be totally avoided, consider playing it automatically if that's what you really want to do.

Personally, I think it's irritating. But we have a client with a made-to-order hip hop track with a singer rapping about their site and they are convinced that their users like it. But it depends on the audience, this is a magazine site... I wouldn't put even an "informative speech" track on a "professional" business site. Personally.

One of our considerations for surveys was that the host be allowed to ask things so long as no references to the host itself were visible. I've removed the signature from the first message, and the post containing the URL to the site as a test of this option. We'll see how it goes...

I don't want to throw the thread into a tangent, so if anyone wants to discuss the survey issue, please start a new thread and we can all talk about it there.

Danke.
