Hello,
I want to use 2checkout for charging creditcards. My company is based outside the us and I understand thats a bit of a problem. Any way to get around it such as having them mail the cheques to the us and have a mail box forward it to me or have them wire me money to my country.
Please if you have any ideas or expiriences tell me. If you have any expirience with 2checkout please post them.
Thanks!.

International Wires are very expensive especially if you are starting out so 2checkout also airmail cheques to you if you prefer at no extra charge. :D

I can't say I have noticed that happening here. As far is I know my bank just converts it to Euro using the latest exchange rate. Doesn't cost anything close to 10GBP.

Damn that's lucky. I went to most banks here and they all charged around £10 for negotiating cheque.

My friend who own an online store was trying out 2checkout for the first time (switching over from ccnow).

Unfortunately he said it has been 2 weeks since he requested for cheque, and yet the cheque has not arrived.

Hello All,
I use 2checkout too and am happy.
However I am trying the wire transfer for the first time and my bank says that they have no corresponding Bank in New York! So I had to leave those fields in the Admin Panel regarding to the intermediatary bank blank. You guys, who used the wire transfer feature, do you know if it is going to work without the corresponding bank?

Fees for an international wire start at $36 and go down $3 for every hundred dollars in gross sales.
You can set a "Release Level" on your account and we will not send you payment until your account reaches this minimum level.

for example:

a $500.00 wire would cost:
$36.00 - (5 x $3.00) = $21.00

a $1,000.00 wire would cost:
$36.00 - (10 x $3.00) = $6.00

You will not be able to receive a bank wire without the appropriate information.

Simply tell your bank that an American company is trying to send you a payment and they require the corresponding bank and SWIFT code. If you need more information on this, contact kristin@2checkout.com

Hello Tom,
I did contact them and they said they have no corresponding bank!!! They said the only information you require is simply my bank account number and the name of the bank, etc. you do not need any corresponding bank!
What shall I do?

is that our bank generally knows which major US banks major international banks correspond with.

If you are dealing with a simple account representative, however, you are better off contacting your bank and asking to speak to someone who specializes in wire transfers. A corresponding bank is the US bank that batches all outgoing wire transfers to your bank on a daily basis. I have never encountered a single internation bank that did not have a correponding US bank.

Additionally, if the wire transfer fails you will be notified as soon as we are notified the funds have been returned to our account. At that point we can pinpoint where the error is and reattempt the wire immediately rather than forcing you to wait until the next payment period.

Kristin

That happened to me before too... I had to wait 6 weeks to receive my cheque... you can probably see my posts in their forums still... hehe... had to continually harass them until they decided to send me my cheque!!

But I still like their service... support isn't too bad since they get back to me fairly quickly (if you post in the forum) :)

In Australia, I think it is cheaper to get a wire than it is to receive the cheque, plus it's heaps faster too... ANZ charges AUD$15 for conversion, Westpac charges AUD$7.50 but gives a bad conversion rate... don't know about the others, but I think I'd rather do a wire from now on...

Why would it be cheaper to get a wire? The wire charge is USD$36, the check will cost about USD$7.5(AUD$15)..

Am I misunderstanding something?

Yes, our wire fees are not static. $36 is the fee for a wire of approximately $100.00.

The charge decreases incrementally per $100 until a $1200 wire would cost our merchants nothing.

The cost-effectiveness of a wire versus a check would depend on the individual bank account's other fees such as conversion costs. The overwhelming majority of our established accounts elect to receive payment via wire.

Setting the release level to $600 or so greatly reduces the costs of a wire and eliminates the delay of a check or the possibility that it may not even get there.
