At the moment I am coding and setting up my company website (I am just starting yes), and I came to the point where I want to code the signup. Well, a few questions about this.

What info do you guys ask from the customer. How can I arrange credit card payment or other payments with this? Well, if you people can just give me some advice on how to setup the signup/billing, I would be verry happy.

We first you will need a payment processor such as 2checkout.com (http://2checkout.com) to process credit cards. Then if you wanted to you could buy phpmanager (http://www.phpmanager.com) which is a billing program that also has a signup form.

Ok, thnx for your reply. I like the Phpmanager. I am not sure about 2checkout. Isn't paypal the same? For no setup fee and just $0,33 a transaction? Well, I don't know about that, but PHPManager is one thing I will surely buy :)

Hi,

it is not recommended that you only use PayPal. You will need a proper payment processor and not just one that does email money.

For startup companies, 2checkout and revecom are the most popular. Hostcharge is also starting to get popular.

Or you could go for a proper merchant account such as WorldPay.

My only option right now is to use PayPal because of their new credit card acceptance services. Once revenue starts coming in then I'll use someone like revecom or 2checkout.

You might want to read this before you decide to use PayPal as a payment processor for your site.
