Hi all,

If i was interested in accepting credit card payments on my site, how would be best to set this up?

I do not have a shopping cart or anything, just for the service i offer people need to sometimes pay via Credit Card.

I have a paypal account, can i do this through there with an addon?

or would you all suggest another product

It depends on where you are from. have a look at 2co.com

2checkout.com works with the companies outside US, so there should be no problems with them.

Since you already have a PayPal account, you can use that to accept credit card payments. (You would need a Premier or Business account for those payments.)

A simple way to set up a credit card payment form is to put the email address from your PayPal account at the end of this URL:

https://www.paypal.com/webscr?cmd=_xclick&business=

You can also create invoices from within your PayPal account, and it will send the customer an email with a link for them to pay using their credit card or PayPal account. To use this feature, log in to your PayPal account, click on Request Money, and then select the Create an Invoice link. (You could also use the basic "Create a Money Request" option; with the Invoice option, you can add more details such as item quantities, shipping, and tax amount.)

To pay with a credit card the customer has to register with PayPal, I emailed PayPal about this and they told me that it's not possible without registering with them.

Currently, PayPal offers Account Optional for Business and Premier accounts in all countries except Germany. With Account Optional, your customers are not required to have a PayPal account to pay by credit card.

You can test this using the URL from my previous post. Enter the email address from your PayPal account at the end of the link, like this:

https://www.paypal.com/webscr?cmd=_xclick&business=username@domain.ext

Enter the URL (using your email address) into your browser & load the page. Enter an item name and amount for the payment. If the first page you see does not have a credit card option, look for the "click here" option for users without an account. If the "click here" takes you to a page saying "Sign up", then Account Optional is not available for the payment. However, if you do not see "Sign up" on that page, then you are viewing the Account Optional checkout and your customers can use that to pay with their credit cards.

There are a lot of companies out there, most of which are fairly close in price. You might try HostingCatalog if you are looking for a lot of them:
