I have a domain expiring in a week, and I wanted to transfer from stargateinc to a better deal. (They are currently asking for 14 per year).

I was wondering if there is any risk for errors in domain name transfer? Also, who has the best price for 3-5 years registration.

Thanks,

Peter

If your domain is expiring in a week, I would be picking soon! I use GoDaddy myself and love their services.

I had problems transferring a domain from NetSol and now they claim that the domain name expired in the middle of the transfer. The domain name is currently in deletion limbo.

You may want to renew your registration with your current registrar THEN perform the transfer. I know that this ups your cost by $35 or so, but TRUST ME, IT WILL BE WORTH IT!!!

If you renew and then transfer, you must wait 45 days after the renewal or you stand a good chance of losing the year you paid for in the renewal. The Registrar will get a refund from the Registry, but he won't pass it on to you...

You can transfer in a week if your admin email address is OK, and there is not a registry lock on, and your losing registrar lets it go the first time, etc, etc.

If you have a domain at NetSol that has expired, you can simply renew it. They generally allow this until the domain actually drops.
