Just dropping by to give a reccommendation:

FROZENMIDNIGHT HOSTING

Why FM? Well, because I found them to be a reliable reseller. Before I aquired an account with them, I had tons of questions. And they answered each and every one of them with a prompt response. So, I was able to percieve this information and ended up buying an account with them. Now, I'm happily hosted with FM. Other reasons would simply be that FM will help solve technical issues and give quicker and more prompt replies than most other resellers. FM is very flexible and can make customizable plans suited to your personal needs. FM is also very cheap, compaired to most other resellers that I've seen. And over-all, FM provides more in service than I ever thought any reseller could. So, if you ask me, I'd reccommend Frozen Midnight any day.

Welcome to WHT. Glad to hear you are happy with FM. What is the domain name you host with them? People around here will want to know as we don't usually take a good/bad review likely, especially when it's made on member's first post.

The domains that I host with them are arcane-dream.org and reikai-tantei.org

FHDave, thanks for noting that in a positive way -- I appreciate it!

Personally I've excellent experiences with FM.
I have two onetime hostings with them and although it would be tempting to say this kind of hosting lacks service it's definitly not the case.

IMO FM does a rather good job to inform their clients of any changes and gives sufficient oportunity to take any needed actions to avoid problems.
They also respond gratefully to any comments which is a good thing as it maintains the relationship alive.

Since these onetime hostings are exactly what they say: you pay only once, it is clear that they are limited. However for a website that doesn't change that much and doesn't have to be visited by three entire continents the specs are more than adequate. I've seen quite a number of people on WHT howling about the viability of these hostings but I think the service offered is not a trick just to make some quick money, but rather as someone on WHT stated correctly a side-service offered by FM which is really a good thing since it enables for nearly everyone to have a hosting without being bothered by recurring bills.

:) just my two-cents of opinion.

Ah, I forgot to mention, this is my first post although I'm registered at WHT since feb. and I know you would like to know which domains I host with FM, however at this time I'm not actively promoting my sites (and no they are not X-rated or anything even close).
I'm in the hosting business since 2000, my first domain registered since 1999 and actively working in the computer world since 1977 (o yes I've worked with the MC6802 and know Algol60!).

The domains that I host with them are arcane-dream.org and reikai-tantei.orgJust stating the obvious, but it surely would be a lot better if you could share a domain that is actually owned by you, not by J Timbre/Frozenmidnight Hosting. :)

I don't know about you, but I trust mathematics a lot more than marketing speech (no matter who writes it). So let's just hope that FM did their math right. :)

mvdm, you can send your domain to the moderating team via: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/report.php?p=3933205. Thank you!

And for the record, I don't involve in marketing speechSorry, I didn't mean to imply that you did so. When I wrote my reply I was referring to the person you were paraphrasing (whoever he might be). I can see now that my words can be too easily misconstrued, so I must thank you for your non belligerent attitude! :)

Just did so, thank you.I'm trying to find it. Did you submit it via the link I gave you or by other means? :)

Strangest thing: did it through your link, but obviously didn't work. May have something to do with my opera browser, will try it again with IE.

Just worked Firefox instead but what's in a name...
By the way, thank you for your correction and nice remark. That is exactly what I'm trying to say, everyone has a right to say what he likes but some folks just keep whining about some things. The clue as to what the other author had to say was plain and simple: for this a small fee, anyone can try and find out for themselves if this sort of hosting works or not, if it works great but don't expect miracles. And that's what a agree to, give those hosting companies that intend to do something nice the credit for it. If you need a reliable hosting for your e-commerce site with a 1 hour support response time than pay for it. Can't find another way to explain it.

Thank you Noughts!

If Frozen Midnight replies to my question in a reasonable amount of time, I think I have found my new host! I have been looking around and ignoring this thread this week, I decided to look, good thing I did! The prices are great, just what I was looking for! I have a favour to ask of anyone hosted with them, could you host a 10mb (or so) file for speed test purposes? I have a need for decent speeds (50kbps will not cut it for me).

Thanks!

EDIT: GASP! They don't seem to state anything about overselling, what a shame!

I could do that, however it won't do you much good. My two hostings with them are effectively on two different servers located at different datacenters.
Since you (and I) don't know where your possible hosting will be setup it doesn't server you much.
Why don't you ask them directly? They do custom hosting and I am sure they will be more than willing to make an adequate offer for you if you explain your exact needs.

You're right about the support page. They are changing things on their site recently so that might be the cause.
I've had good responses from their support ticket system earlier this month so just hang on. Email them throught their support or sales(at)frozenmidnight.com and notify them of this.
By the way, I just did a speedtest with one of my hostings and downloaded a 10Mb file with a speed of 70-80 KB/sec on a 2 MB ADSL line so judge for yourself.

That's definately not going to work, especially when I can get 600 kbps from resellerzoom, but I will have to see what I get from Frozen Midnight for a proper comparison.

It all depends where you / your clients are located. It takes me 16 hops to get there since I'm over in europe-spain.

I have been trying to contact your team for 2 hours via MSN and a message left at the help desk, I feel that is sufficient. They seem to be more involved elsewhere.

Generally interested clients reach us through email and our help desk is only open to current clients. Additionally, MSN support is offere whenever possible, but should not be solely relied on. Unfortunately our staff cannot man MSN 24/7, but is generally online. If they are not online, they an Away is displayed.

I'll check into an email from you and if so, ensure its answered in a timely fashion.

As I said before, they do respond you just have to be a little patient.
Having around 6 hosting of which 3 resellers and about 35 domains I have gained the experience I guess.

As I've mentioned earlier I'm not going to reveal the domains here. They are not secret as in fact the whois data is public. It's just that I don't want to attract spammers or otherwise "interested" people.

Stay with FM to get a proper speed test even if you have your doubts, give them the benefit. No harm in that I think.

OK, I understand. I did get a reply from a tech, but the test file wasn't even 1mb so I couldn't really guage the speed too well, I replied ad hopefully they will too.
