phbroad 02-05-2001, 05:03 PM 8 Gig (on the ad) or 12 Gig (on the description of hosting plans)?
Just wondering,
Regards,

We just made some increases to our bandwidth allowances last night. The special when the ad started for that promotion was for 8 gig, we are unsure if we will carry over the 12ig to the promotion. In either case some of the wording needs to be changed on the site still.
brav0 02-06-2001, 08:36 AM Well Jag, the from a customer's perspective I can tell you that the offer is great the way it stands.
In your place, I would play the customer service and quality angles more than anything else.
Most webmasters have had at least one bad experience with a hosting company (I know I did).
That's when they start looking at sites like this.
Look at futurequest, their plans and policies are not nearly as good as yours,
they do have problems with their servers and network like everyone else
but they reel customers in because of their support. Their techs work their
bulletin board explaining any problems that occur more than they work on problem resolution.
Besides, giving a customer 300MB/12gig for $10, what possibility is there
in upgrading this customer later? For any more than that they would need to go to dedicated.
In short, try to be a quality leader, not price leader.
It's less work and probably more money in the long run.
Thanks for the perspective :)
This is actually just a promotional price were are running with some advertising. Its not our long term plan at all, that would be a step back to try and grow strictly from this type of pricing. Its more of a branding thing we are doing at this time to get our name better known to more than just WHT folk.
klisis 02-06-2001, 11:13 AM Ho Ho, I signed up as well. It wasn't a discount plan though ;) I had a small problem with domain transfering, miscoding on Jag's side but it was fixed.
Just wondering when will this offer last? Seems like a very good deal to me.

Jag,
I was wondering when dedicatedspace.com will be online?
And what about the prices? :D
Very shortly, hopefully this weekend. To give an example of what the pricing will be we have already sold a few of these:
p3 866mhz
128mb SDRAM
45gig 7200rpm IBM IDE drive
10 free IP's (.50 ea. after that)
50 gig of bandwidth ($3 per gig thereafter)
and of course redhat 6.2
Web Host Manager/Cpanel
$300 setup
$300 mo.
Co-lo will be :
$147 footprint for 1u ($50 per additional U thereafter)
$3 per gig for bandwidth (20 gig minimum)
$150 setup
10 free IP's
and Free Web Host Manager/cpanel
I spent 5 mins on your site but couldn't find what is your DNS server so I can point my domain to. Of course I guess it's ns1.jaguarpc.com and ns2.jaguarpc.com but I just want to make sure. Couldn't find any on forums also.
ns.jaguarpc.net and ns2.jaguarpc.net , they come listed in the auto response you get when your order is completed. That section of the response looks something like this :
To update your NIC records please use the following name servers:
ns.jaguarpc.net 64.29.28.160
ns2.jaguarpc.net 64.29.28.161
ns5.jaguarpc.net 64.65.5.235
thx for fast response, I just signed up :)
good deal, welcome aboard :)
