View Full Version : Sales/Billing for dedicated servers

I`ve been happily using clientexec for the last year, however it is restricted mostly to offering shared packages.

There is no option for those looking to sell dedicated services until the next main release, that is unless you want to dig into the source code adding extra fields and all that.

Just looking for some ideas about adding dedicated services. Obviously the signup form needs to have all the usual info `host name, cpu, ram, IP#`s` etc etc.

Sales are processed through paypal, 2CO and snail mail methods. We`re happy with those processors.

Would I be better off, just creating a form with all the fields. Then once this has been recieved I would then manually forward an invoice?

Advice appreciated :)

Have you looked into ModernBill (http://ModernBill.com)?

We use ClientExEc, they do have the signup fields that you can enter, and then we invoice for this after they have paid for the actual server. This works out quite well as they can cancell Addons easier. However hope they bring out something that you can actually do pricing in the order form. We used Modernbill and found it to be too feature intensive for what we needed. And the price increase really didnt make me think it was worth it any longer.

Modernbill has excellent features, more stable, more compatible, I think its one of the best billing system.

That is why we have stuck with clientexec for so long. The simplicity wins me over!! I really don`t need the bells and whistles that come with modernbill and doubt I`ll use half the features available.

Thanks guys.

If you're looking to offer a wider range of services with more complex setups, ModernBill or ClientExec is definitely the way to go.
