Hi,

I'm in Canada, but I'll charge my customers in $US.
I don't want to loose money from currency conversion - (US -> CAD - my customers paying to me, CAD -> US - Paying my expenses.
What is the most efficient way to do my transactions, to open $US business account with Canadian bank or something else?
Any help appreciated.

Personally I have 4 USD accounts. Both business and personal accounts in Canada and the states all dealing with us funds. If you are just starting out I'd suggest going to your bank in canada and just get a U.S. dollar account. That should do the trick for most of your bill paying.

I have business account with Royal bank and I hate them!
I've just received notification for increasing their service fees again :angry:
I'm definitely going to change my bank.

Actually I deal with the royal bank myself and find this branch to be quite good. I've got the business and personal canadian accounts with them as well as the personal american account through their U.S. partner www.centura.com

I wont trust in ScotiaBank.
They stoled the money to their clients in my country.
I suggest to avoid them like the plague.

hmmm... we have been using them for years for our business and have never had any problems with them... have been very happy :)

I'm interested in this as well, I think I saw on the CIBC website that new businees accounts get the first 60 days of banking free :)

Any thoughts on CIBC?

I have a personal account with Royal Bank but I'd like to try another bank.
