Once I saw that he was doing this to children then I thought a little different.. He deserves what he gets.. I mean if he did not direct alot of his stuff twords kids then it would be a little bit of a different story. My 0.02 Frosty 05-29-2002, 05:07 PM Wow money money...i want porno...no more web hosting :D My mom`s best friend has a son who has a porno site. It made him a multi-millionare and he`s only 22 years old right now. Lucky lil`pervert. :crap: 311 05-29-2002, 05:16 PM Making a living off porno would just make me feel immoral. I just don't think it's right. We all have our opinions don't we...:) chinchilla 05-29-2002, 05:18 PM If I didn't feel the need to retain some respectability I'd run a porno site. :) All that $$ is tempting, isn't it? I don't think I'd pelt people with pop-ups, though. I'd also run a porn site before I'd ever be a spammer... would not go there, no way. Shyne 05-29-2002, 05:40 PM Running a porno site is too much. You know most of the credit cards will be fraud. Going through all those chargeback papers is too much. I would make people sign up and use the credit cards to go shopping. We all have our opinions don't we...:) Immortal's good, Immoral's bad :) And why should it? If you run a popular softcore site, that does not deprave women and does not show illegal content it shouldn't. No more than running a webhostingcompany that promises unlimited bandwidth - That's immoral :) mwatkins 05-29-2002, 06:51 PM Visitors that inadvertently misspelled a site’s name, like victoreasecret.com instead of the lingerie retailer, went to Zuccarini’s site and were barraged with a hailstorm of pop-up ads for Internet gambling and pornography I'm glad to see this guy get hit hard. Running an erotica site / business - fine, go for it. Make it accessible for those that want that sort of thing. But deliberately targetting those that are not looking for erotica / gambling is just as bad as SPAM/UCE. With any luck, the spam-meisters and ther customers and vendors will be hit as hard as this guy. INurv 05-30-2002, 11:57 PM I'm liable to get a lot of flame for this, and don't get me wrong - I am against those things that the guy is promoting. However, I'd like to know what law he is breaking? He registered domain names that were similar to ones already registered. He hosted them himself, he ran them himself. He has a right to free speech as we do, and as other porn sites do out there. The difference is that THESE sites have similar domain names to real ones - but that difference is just a happening - how can you prosecute someone for something like this, without any hard, concrete, logical law reasoning? If he is breaking copyright or trademark laws on the domain name, then so be it. But I fail to see how this instance logically breaks any laws, and why he should be punished for it. Sure, the names are smiliar, but think about it.. its just how it is - the DNS system is meant to be exactly - it isnt meant to correct spelling errors. Basically, this is a result from the clash of computer perfection and human imperfection... If any of you out there think I am completely full of crap, Please let me know - I actually have strong feelings like this with a lot of cases out there - where I think the case is being considered without looking at the cold hard facts, and the law. Particularly, one part of the Microsoft case, in which lawyers think Microsoft shouldnt "include" Internet Explorer into their operating system. If you want to get technical, what idealy is Internet Explorer? The Operating System shares numerous DLLS with internet explorer, it is basically a named feature of the operating system.. How can lawyers or judges who haven't a clue about computer workings even begin to judge this? BTW, I am not a rebell and I am sorry if I have offended anyone. :( :( Frosty 05-31-2002, 12:32 AM I say more power to him. He made himself into a freakin millionare and i`m jelous. davidb 05-31-2002, 01:00 AM I think it could be compared to putting fake magazine covers on porno mags then handing em out to kids :) Weather or not its illegal, he was poping up massive amounts of porn and gambling to kids, that will get anyone in trouble. On another note. Notice the article never said anything about it being illegal. For something like this it dosent have to be. If you get hot coffey(sp) spilled on you at mcdonalds, you can still sue even though nothing illegal happend. It appears the FTC sued him for the victims and now hes gotta pay. ADEhost 05-31-2002, 03:28 AM well the way I see it, he faught the FTC and lost. also there are some laws about trying to be deceptive that are covered by the FTC. now what he should have done is made his hosting and everything else in europe. Mike CRego3D 05-31-2002, 05:51 PM this is BS is it immoral .. yes is it illegal ? .. no I dont' see why he should be fined. UmBillyCord 05-31-2002, 06:00 PM I dont' see why he should be fined. I agree 100%. He should have been shot! I hate scum bags like this. Imagine if your 7 year old for example went to "disnet.com" and they were hit with Porn. Not only that, but porn that uses java bombs (whatever they are called), so you can't get rid of them. This guy got what was coming to him. One less fu**er to pollute the Net. Sorry. I am very pasionate when it comes to protecting young children. FiberOptic 05-31-2002, 06:18 PM I don't think running a porn site will bring up mush money. I really think 95% of the porn sites just are rips of other sites pictures, and have each around 5 members... The administrator his mummy and 3 brothers... CRego3D 05-31-2002, 06:41 PM you know it's very easy for authorities in a tought case like this to say "he was using minor's targeted domains" I want to knwo exacly what those domains are, and if it's even true ADEhost 05-31-2002, 07:55 PM Originally posted by UmBillyCord Sorry. I am very pasionate when it comes to protecting young children. then you need to be looking over there shoulder. I have a daughter, she is not permitted on the net without me or my wife being there. but the interent is somewhat free and he has a right to have misspelled domains going to porn ( that was not disputed within the case ) but the case centered on the pop-up routines and mouse lock. otherwise I don't really see a problem in the business sense ( morally I have a slight objection ) Mike Side note: Also he made sure his sites were all registered with safesurf and the others to prevent children from seeing those site ( it's in the transcripts ) UmBillyCord 05-31-2002, 09:40 PM then you need to be looking over there shoulder. I have a daughter, she is not permitted on the net without me or my wife being there. Good for you. I don't have kids, but it still doesn't matter. If you really think you are available 24/7/365 to "look over their shoulder", then congrats. However kids are kids. Also, it is not only about that. It is about the deliberate shoving of porn down your throat. Did I search the Net for it? No. I mispelled a common web site name. Ignorant to think a child (who doesn't have 'over the shoulder looking dad' around) might not make the same mistake. I have no issue with porn. But I do have an issue with it being thrown at me or at someone that is too young to be viewing it. iamdave 05-31-2002, 10:00 PM The funny thing is that victoreasecret.com, still goes to a bunch of gambling pop-ups. But the article says he was ordered to stop? divinetruth 05-31-2002, 10:30 PM heh he could have moved all the stuff to a country where it's still legitament |
