i have experience running cobalt raq4 servers, but have decided to build server from scratch.

i have installed redhat 7.3

but i need some assistance in how to configure it for dedicated web hosting. is there a online guide/tutorial or a book any one can recomend ?

You could use a control panel such as cpanel or plesk, which would do most of the basic configuring for you.

maybe i am not explaining. i need some sort of documentation on how to configure linux to run apache on startup, configure php etc. a real newbies guide (to paraphrase)

I had a really great redhat 7 book. Went through mail, web server, dns, ftp, samba, nfs, irc. Very starter. I wish I could remember. But you may want to check out linuxguruz.org. They have tons of usefull little tidbits :)
