As I have learned on this forum, one should always attempt to give back to this forum. Hence this review of budgetreseller.com
About three months back I was looking for couple of reseller service provider. I was looking for small, cheap and reliable service provider.
I created a list of probable hosting provider by scanning WHT offer section. Made few post here and there to elicit response from different forum members on some of the hosting providers.
The most important aspect, to which I gave a big weight was “Attitude, Tone for response and Courtesy” demonstrated by respective host.
My Selection criteria:
My technical specifications: Scored them on the specifications that I require(not what they offer): Like Anonymous nameservers, dedicated IP, cpanel, etc
Host History score: Scanned almost all forums, with prime being WHT. I checked for their track record, their tone/attitude while responding to certain forum posts.
Presales questions score: I mailed them under different names, chatted with them under different identities. This is to check the consistency of reply and time in which they respond. The presales question was largely related to server they have, overselling, features, support, any discount they might be offering, and usual techy stuff.
First shortlist: few host pass through my technical specs and few could not. With this list I applied Host History and Pre sales questions score and shortlisted 3 hosts.
Final Selection: I sent number of emails to these hosts at times under different names. Chatted with them, again at times with different Ids.
During this process, a name that started popping up was budgetreseller.com. I talked to Greg, the owner of budgetreseller couple of times (Sorry Greg, at times I chatted with you under different Ids:peace: ). His response at all the times was courteous and consistent (both timing and content). I was always getting comprehensive responses, not just canned answers. Greg never showed any ego and was always polite, but straight in his answers.
So with my final score of “Solid & reliable host” + “meeting my requirements” + “Good reviews in past” + “A person with nice helpful attitude” + “A decent discount” + “Known face at WHT”, I zeroed on budgetreseller.com.
I signed for a subscription with BR and made payment through paypal, and its here something went wrong. BR prices are in Canadian $. Paypal instead of paying though my paypal funds, it charged the subscription on my credit card. I contacted Greg and without any issue he agreed that I should cancel the existing subscription and pay him separately in US$. He updated the billing database that I paid manually.
So far sail is pretty smooth and easy with budgetreseller.com with no downtime and server slowing down. Server loads are low and consistent all the time. So no spikes noticed on the server.
Great job Greg, it seems I have really found a good host and for sure will recommend budgetreseller to all.
WHTiers: I will keep you posted on future experience with BR.
PS: In the process, I discovered some of the so called cheap host with huge attitude issues. No need to name them, their acts are making them pretty evident on this forum.
