Hello, i have lost a .com domain and need to know if i can get it back.

The domain was registered with uk2.net, however they charged for transfer out of domains, this is ok as knew that when i signed up. However they also said that transfer out was free after 2 years, come the end of 2 years i wanted to transfer out my 100+ domains, well this turned out to be impossible as they do not answer support emails or have a transfer out facility for free transfer.

The only way to go was to allow domains to expire and then renew them, this was not to bad as uk2.net used joker.com, i just set up account with email i used when i registered domains.

The problem is that during this process i have lost one of my prime domains, it is now in process of being transfered by http://www.namegiant.com/ to a client.

Is there any way i can appeal to get my domain back?

many thanks

You let it expire. That means it's available to anyone to register.

Unless you think you have a UDRP claim on the domain - that is someone has registered it in bad faith or otherwise in violation of your copyright or trademark on the domain.

Though I'm not a domain lawyer and I don't play one on the Internet...

As long as you don't have any trademark rights on that name, the only thing you can do is offering some money to the new owner.

Transferring out *is* free after 2 years - if you're still with us. If you haven't renewed, we'll delete you from our systems, so you can't log in to transfer out. Bit of a catch 22, but that's the way it goes, unfortunately.

sound like u are from uk2.net and yes it is a sharp pratice you have indeed

I know i am not the 1st to lose a domain because uk2.net refuse to assist in transfering out of domains after 2 year even though they say it can be done for free.

crap service

crap company

never recommend them, if uk2.net had a decent servise like stargateinc.com or 123reg.co.uk i would have stayed but like many i chose to leave, only the mis-informed go with uk2.net, they leave when the realise what a poor service they offer.
