Andyc 05-29-2002, 04:40 AM Great job. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the picture of the computer?
Chang Lee 05-29-2002, 05:48 AM Yeah. Neat work. I also would like to know the answer to Andyc's question! :)
NetXL 05-29-2002, 06:08 AM Well, it's a Compaq, here it is (I think)

richy 05-29-2002, 06:27 AM youd get more offers if you used stock images rather then just lifting images off maufactures sites as theyre more likely to be generic and therefore useful to more hosts, for example hosts that dont use dell or compaqs would have to source more pictures. invest a little money in your templates and youd get more for them.
Sovereign 05-29-2002, 11:29 AM Really.. I lifted the picture and enhanced the pixels HOW? you're funny. Don't talk about things you don't know please.
It doesn't matter if the computer's a Compaq because it's a business workstation, has nothing to do with the host's servers. It's there to give a New and High-Tech feeling.

Ummm well did you get permission from Compaq to use that image? I know I did even though I run Compaq servers, I had to email them and after explaining that I use all Compaq servers they were more than happy to allow me to use them, Alot of companies do not mind you using them due to the fact that it is advertising for them but some due and I think if you are going to try to sell something that is not legally yours nor do you have permission to use you would be found at fault and made to pay a fine if you were found guilty of selling an image that is not yours nor did you have permission to resell.. Get it?
BenDoherty 05-29-2002, 12:47 PM Umm a very rude comment said in an aggressive manner, my thoughts of buying your template have just gone out the window!
Regards
Ben
richy 05-29-2002, 12:59 PM i was merely offering some advice, that your site would look better if you hadnt LIFTED a publicity shot off a manufactures site. i would have been interested if it had been a decent stock photo but your attitude towards your clients and how you recieve advice just lost you a sale. as others have posted and confirmed i wasnt in the wrong in stating what i did, i did so in a friendly manner and you respond in the way you did, speaks volumes. well im sorry i tried to help you i was only trying to help you make more saleable templates.
xjeffx 05-29-2002, 01:13 PM I do think the photo works well in the template, but unfortunately you shouldn't take photos from companies like that. I agree with Richy and Ben, you're rude reply has also left me uninterested in purchasing this template from you.
AcuNett 05-29-2002, 01:47 PM IMHO a workstation is out of place for a hosting site, otherwise it looks good
Sovereign 05-29-2002, 07:06 PM umm.. how do you know I didn't ask for permission and also how do you know that I LIFTED the picture from their website? Simple answer: YOU DON'T. That picture is way too small.. you can't add pixels to it to make it bigger.. GET IT?
this is what happens when you jump to conclusions. what you could have done in a NICE FRIENDLY manner is ask about it first before skipping straight to bashing me. take your own advice please. show some respect. if I find myself at fault, I will surely apologize.
I am simply trying to sell this template, which to me looks nice just as it stands. I picked out the picture, and it's staying.
My last client, Msstatebdfan, was very satisfied with the logo work I did for him. Ask him yourself. I won't stand for people like timechange.
richy 05-29-2002, 07:15 PM my advice may have been briefly worded and i may have sacrificed some wordage for speed but it was well intentioned. i dont make templates myself, ive no interest in doing anything other then help you. imho stock photoes tend to look better, publicity shots tend to be taken form a certain aspect thats all, with stock you can browse loads and pick the right one. i wasnt bashing merely making two valid points. i said lifted not stolen remember, not a derogatory term. dont you think judging by the other replies there might have been some substance in what i was saying? i was trying to help, i may have been a bit short in my tone but that was just due to speed, your the one that seems to have invented a problem. sorry but its time for me to flip on ignore.
Sovereign 05-29-2002, 07:30 PM Okay, if you had flipped on ignore earlier that would have been less of an annoyance. Lately, a lot of the posts following templates seem to be "its ripped from www.site.com" or something of the sort.
Sovereign 05-31-2002, 04:58 AM Despite the bad publicity richy decides to bestow upon this, this template has been SOLD.
BenDoherty 05-31-2002, 05:45 AM What bad publicity? Richy advised you on a few things, you lost your temper and were ill mannered and childish? A few other members agreed? I hope chicken closes this thread.
Regards
Ben
