How long does it take you( the hosting owner) to make some money hosting and how long did it take to make enough to pay off the price of the server per month

This varies with every hosting business. Some are profitable by the end of their first month and some are scraping by 5 years later.

If you're on top of everything, and you're starting small, then as little as 6 months. Otherwise, a year is a reasonable amount of time.

It varies so much it is impossible to say. It can break-even and make small profits very quickly, but whether that is classified as making real money is another thing

It was six months after start before we broke even. Nice to see thats not a million miles away from others :)

I started doing afew site for my friends. That was 3 years ago. I just in the last few months and finally went public. I was making money till, I went ahead and got 2 servers. One for shared and one for resellers. I'm not quite even yet after 4 months, but close! I figured it was best to jump right in....
