We will be launching our new site soon, but we do not have enough time for these templates.

We will give away all ten templates at http://www.acunett.com/templates/ and http://www.acunett.com/~test as well as the current acunett.com design right now for $150.

These templates are not customized, although we can customize all logos for $75, and every template for $150.

If you would only like one template, each cost $30.

You have links on there to download each template.. why would we pay?

Because you are using an illegal design if you don't pay for it ?

Who is going to pay to use a template that 100s of people could have downloaded for free, legally or not.

Hi AcuNett,

These guys are making a valid point.

I think you should not upload complete working templates for initial display. Just make a jpeg, gif, or png image and show it instead. that really goes a long way in protecting your hard labor and prevents people from simply downloading it - whihc is the point being emphasized here.

Everyone here is giving you sane advice.

Regards ~

So if you find a car with the keys in it, the windows rolled down and the engine running, you shouldn't have to pay for it? You can just drive it away? I don't think so...

I don't want to speak for AcuNett, but I'm guessing that these templates were made available for the use of their resellers and that is why there are download links. AcuNett is now offering them for sale to us.

If you don't want them - then don't buy them. But just because there is a download link doesn't mean that they're available for free.

Just my thoughts on the matter...

I have to agree with 4Solutions. However the proper protective measures should have been taken to keep people from stealing them. It is sad to have to do that but that is the world we live in.

Once purchased they will be removed from our template section. Per your advice, the download links have been removed.

The templates are copyrighted by us so if you purchase a template and see someone else has it, contact us, and we will deal with them appropriately.

The screenshots of the template(s) will also be removed from our site upon purchase.

ryanmt: There have not been 100s of downloads, maybe a few at most.

Uh.. does anyone else aggree with me?

First of all.. Downloading web content is not like stealing a car.
It isnt about illegally downloading the content.. It's about keeping the content private for the person who will eventually buy it. They are assuming that they will get a custom template that no one else has. Well, if you are giving it away for download, then other people, illegal or not (BTW, even if they are copyrighted.. people will download them -- when's the last time you've downloaded an MP3?), then they arent indeed unique.
I'm not trying to bash you for including download links to your content, I am just trying to set the record straight for assuming uniqueness of an item.

Just my 3.14 cents

First of all.. Downloading web content is not like stealing a car. No... I do not agree with you. Stealing is stealing. Just because downloading is less physical than getting in someone elses car and driving it away, it does not make it right. Just because you and others are stealing (your words were "downloading") copyrighted MP3 files and using them, then don't assume that everyone is. I buy my CD's with cold hard-earned cash.

And just because there is a download link doesn't make a difference. There is always File(Alt+F) Save As (A) to steal most any site.

If you want an exclusive, custom design then you are going to pay a lot for it. Most templates available on the web are not sold as custom templates that no one else has... they are sold as a quick, inexpensive solution to building a web site.

I don't mean to be disagreeable (and excuse me if I am because I am tired tonight) but AcuNett has offered some templates and if people want them, they can buy them. If not, then no one is forcing them to buy.

Well, just IMHO, I think the point is that why would you buy a design that the more unscrupulous pepole have already stolen and are probably using? :)
