Well, my domain was up for renewal in september of this year, and since I originally got it from Netsol ( scary eh?) and they want $29 year for it I decided to pack up, and move my domain elsewhere.
I got my emails today stating that it was successful, and a "were sorry to see you go" email from Netsol. I'm so happy that my domain is now not near expiration, and that I dont have to pay extortionate prices to keep it :D
I never had a problem with Netsol, minus the rediculous prices :) I now have my domian with "Powerpipe". I friend uses them and highly recommended them to me. (I read some good and bad about them here).
Sorry... Rust rambling :)

I think that's the first story I heard where it wasn't a nightmare to get a domain name transferred away from NetSol.
You have a right to wear that :D. Glad things worked out for you.

I very recently transfered a domain I've held with netsol since 1997 - it was simple, automated, and painless. I used Pairnic.com (OpenSRS).

I think that's the first story I heard where it wasn't a nightmare to get a domain name transferred away from NetSol. :D
Truthfully, the only reason I left NetSol was because of the prices, and some of the horror stories I heard here. It said it could take up to 2 weeks for a transfer, but my transfer was complete in about 20-24 hours. :stickout :D
Figues, I was going to register the .net version of my domain but somebody else beat me to the punch... Oh well...
Sorry to see you go - to powerpipe, that is :D
Well, powerpipe has 59 days to impress me, and if I think or get a feeling I should transfer, I'll back up and move out of there too. ;)
I always make sure I'm the registrant, administrative, technical, and billing contact for my domain. I also check it periodically to make sure nothing "fishy" happens.

Lately the transfers seem to get done in a day or two after the admin contact properly replies to an automated email confirmation from Netsol. It;s become an almost hassle-free process, at least when transferring to eNom. :)
Now if only we could do something about Netsol's habit of holding on to domains for seemingly indefinite periods of time after expiration. :(
