I've always had problems registering domains through this feature (actually, I never registered one domain to go through the regular domain registration)

But I fill out all the required info, at the end, it asks for the credit card information, the street address of the credit card, and the zip code of the credit card.

I'm looking at my last credit card statement right in front of me... I type that in exactly as shown on the statement ... then... 'Credit Card Declined'

anyone have this problem before or is it just me? I don't think i've ever seen anyone else talk about this problem before. This has been the third time that their system has declined my credit card.

Thanks to anyone who sines a light into this situation as I need some light into what is going on with my credit card and stargate.

Have you asked Stargate directly what happened?
I know when I transfer or purchase names through stargate I have no problems. But, I use a bulk account and it just deducts from the balance there. Although I do have to add funds occasionally. Again with no problems.

well, the past times, they never explained the problem - they just said that they'll register it manually and they did...

The credit card address they are asking for is not the address of the credit card itself but your address. I guess they haven't reworded that part of the signup process.

I called them on that once and they said that all they are confirming is if your address matches with the credit card. I'm surprised more people haven't gotten lost on that because it is worded completely backwards.

that isn't the problem either because I submitted my home address... aka the address that the credit card company sends the bill to...

I know that was the problem I experienced the one time. The second time I tried registering a couple of domains, it failed as well. I should have listened to my instincts and left then. I personally don't like Stargate but that is just my opinion. If you still wish to do business with them I'd suggest contacting them tomorrow to find out why it won't register.

Good luck...

I've researched other registrars... the only reason why I want to use them now is because im registering a few domains and its cheaper there although the renewal fee is more expensive... their control panel is pretty nice, no hassle really except slow sometimes... if i decide to sell a domain, its easy to just hand off ownership... i can create nameservers of the domain...

can anyone recommend me another registrar who has the same qualities that I have listed above?

I think I'm gonna go with 000domains.com - a bit more expensive then stargate but last time I checked, they have superb service... let me know if this is no longer the case ;)

just registered 2 of the few domains I wnated to register with 000domains.com - it seems as if its a credit card problem - i would definately have to call this credit card and see whats up...

anyways... yea, I looked into namecheap... i liked the prices... some compliments from WHT members - but they won't allow domain nameserver creation from their control panel... although this is no bid deal - something got me about them... maybe I'll try them next time.

We see cards fail at times because the credit card company won't accept Internet based orders. In these cases the card will work at some online shops and not others - based entirely on how their business is defined in their merchant account.

In these cases, the card holder needs to contact his company and authorize the card be used for online transactions.

We probably seen two or three of these a month.

I see alot about 000domains.com but for that price range BulkRegister.com is tops at $12 USD!

Like to hear more about Stargate too.

if you think you will use more than 50 domain years in the next 12 months sign up with OpenSRS for $500.
You will find their system very satisfactory.
Especially as youyr client will be down as admin and billing contact withouthem being able to cut you out of the loop.
