Hi all,

I'm new to the board - what a great resource!

I'm setting up a couple 1U colocated boxes, and would appreciate any suggestions as to appropriate providers. I'm currently hosting with InReach in Oakland (I get 1/4 rack, 10-base T, and 128kbps bandwidth). This is a little expensive for the bandwidth I'm getting, and I don't need a full 1/4 rack.

My requirements are:

- 2U space (two 1U boxes)
- 100 base T connection (I may be getting a LOT more uploading and downloading traffic in the near future)
- 24/7 staffing (for reboots and possible tape switches)
- Reasonable pricing, especially for add-on bandwidth down the line
- STABLE company that won't go out of business anytime soon
- Multiple redundant internet connections (I don't trust a company with just one provider)

I've hosted with Rackspace before, and they are fantastic, but too expensive for what I need (high-end dual processor / SCSI array boxes and lots of bandwidth). I've been running and building web servers for a few years, so I don't need any handholding.

Thanks for any help.

Adrian

Have you ever looked into getting a rack at a cognet facility? If you can find the right person you might be able to get rack space at a cognet facility cheap. Again, they would not be local to you either.

I think you need to take a look at http://webhostingtalk.com/misc.php?action=forum-rules before posting your "shameless plug" ;)
