I am so tired of Authorizenet. Every week there's another problem. Now they've changed it again so that referrer URL's are required. Great. The only problem is that you can't even get into their system to change anything since their servers are so overloaded. ARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGHH. DOes anyone have an alternative to AUthorizenet? I'm ready to bail. But it has to work with Alabanza, Optigold ISP and Ubersmith. Anyone?

I just got off the phone with them as well about this very issue. Authorize.net, charge.com and Ipayment are very good at giving you the run-around. Forget about getting a straight answer out of them - they will tell you one thing today and deny it tomorrow. IMHO aovid these three as you would the plague.

That's a good thing, not a bad thing, and they've been warning us merchants for a while now about the change. I think today was the day it went into effect (or maybe tomorrow?). I'm glad they put that function in (finally).
As for their servers/network/whatever, I was on their system earlier today and it was running very quickly. Perhaps it's just some congestion right now...
All in all, I'm very happy with AuthNet. I've never had a technical problem with them, so I don't know how good their support it.
Check http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51534&highlight=authorize.net for a fix....
As Alexander said, this change is something they have been warning about. However it's still rather pointless as most scripts easily forge referers.
We have been receiving about 7-10 e-mails a day for the past 5 days warning us of the change. I have been happy with authorize.net, but we don't do high volumes of credit cards each day. I have been unhappy with chrage.com and their supposed "free check writing software". I have e-mailed many times and called asking about the registration code I keep requesting. Never get it. Now they want to charge $100 to add it to my virtual terminal.

For most part of the day their payment gateway was down or overloaded...now it displays a blank page!!!
This is horrible for a company who is in a serious business such as this. I cannot imagine how they can put out crappy untested code in their production envirnoment and affect 1000s of business owners.
They should compensate us for a lost days business! Any lawers reading this?

I'm not sure why you are having problems.
We've been processing through them all day - fairly well distributed over time since midnight - with no gateway errors at all.
The URL change didn't affect us since we use the ADC Direct Response and that did not require referrer URLs.

I use two methods to connect to authorize.net -- ADC Direct Response for OpenSRS registrations and the ADC Relay Response method for Ubersmith and my websites order form. Authorizenet has informed me that this won't work, I will have to choose one or the other until they have a work around for this. They added me to a list of other people with this problem and said when the fix is out they will contact me.
