Hi,
the initial thread http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51841
was closed by my request.
However now they're hiding behind the "all sales are final" and "we gave you two certs" front...
I am so peeved....
DO NOT DO ANYTHING RACKSHACK CS SUPPORT TELLS YOU... time to call them... LAST TIME...

As said in your last post get someone on the phone of a higher power (ie: supervisor) if that does not work then you will have to do a chargeback plain and simple.. Any of us know what kind of hell it is sometimes to deal with RS at all .. From what you have told us I dont see any way that you would not be able to do a chargeback, Did you get the name of the sales person who told you to resend it?

I finally did manage to get a supervisor and he'll look into it. The problem is that I don't remember the name of that person... it was actually TWO people, one on their irc channel one on the phone. Not getting the name is MY fault...
it's just sad that RS takes that approach (all sales are final), because most people wouldn't pursue it after that....
Anyways, I got a promise that they'd look into it again and respond within 24hours...
So I'll defintely post the results here. Don't get me wrong, the cert is great and the people at geotrust were helpfull... it's just so difficult to get anything out of rackshack...
so here's my advise: if you call about the geotrust certs, make sure you get someone who knows the product (actually none of them said they didn't know the product).... or as OKIHost suggests... get a supervisor right away.

Not to dis RS.... But I think chargebacks are a way of life with them...
We tried to get a server with them, the order form was broke so it didn't get our server password but it did get our CC info... So we were billed but we didn't get a server...
I'm sure if we would have dealed with support it would have been fixed, but we didn't feel like going though the hassle and just charged it back...

yeah, I see what you say... however I don't like getting chargebacks myself (when I sell hosting)... so I always leave that as the last option....

I just have this strange feeling that if you do a charge back on one charge, both certs will get taken out since they are for the same domain...

actually once 1 is issued the 2nd is identical (in my opinion) however, once it's installed there's no taking it back (or voiding it)...
besides geotrust already voided the 2nd one (when I called them)...
so now rackshack is calling geotrust to get this confirmed... and if all goes well (and pigs fly) then I'll get 1 charge back w/o too much trouble! :D

Well, guess what ? Rackshack is issueing a refund for the 2nd cert.
so here's my advice:
- never take the first "no" to be the final answer
- get geotrust to validate your claims
- and then get your refund :)
