If WebPosition Gold and other Search Engine Optimization programs are beginning to get banned by popular search engines, how do marketing companies mass "optimize" client websites? I am stumped. :eek:

Really, though, marketing/seo companies -- good ones -- never were the big users of the template-based doorway pages produced by WPG and the like, assuming that's the kind of stuff you're talking about. Those "tools" were (are?) more frequently used by individual site operators trying to do the job themselves.

I suppose some of the really low-cost search engine marketing firms take those kinds of short cuts, but they're pretty much the same group that still promises to get results through the use of meta tag keywords, and that "guarantees" top placement for your own domain name. Excluding those snake oil salesmen, though, seo is generally not a "mass" operation.
