I have been a log time supporter of OSI Codes, maker of PHP Live!, but the word on the street is that they have went out of business. Can anyone confirm this? Repeated emails and phone calls to them have went unanswered.

If so, does anyone know if the script will stop functioning if you do not renew it, presently it is a yearly renewal.

I hope they do not go out of business. My script stopped working about 3 weeks ago - and they never answer any phone calls, or emails I send, and if they are on live chat, they ignore me.

I haven't heard this, but I did email them last week with no response to date. Why they would not sell the rights to the code at least is beyond me. It has some value as does the entire company I'm sure. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors though.

I've been checking the site for a few weeks now, and the live support is never on line, and the forum has been dead except for one guy who was giving away copies...and then they began pruning heavily. No responses...just removing posts and threads.
Would love to know what's going on.

Has anyone tried calling them, besides me? It goes straight to voicemail with the standard "Mailbox is full" and hangs up. Great! I just renewed for another year and now now wonder if this will simply turn into "vaporware", if they are infact closed.

I am going to have my MasterCard issue a charge back. This is crazy!

really too bad to hear. I'm quite surprised that they wouldn't try and sell out before closing if this is actually the case.

The word you want is "abandonware". Vaporware is software that never exists at all. :D

I have been trying to contact the customer servicee department of PHP Live! Support for quite some time now, and I have yet to get anything out of them. I do believe they may have gone out of business!

Hmm, that's a bit dissapointing. Oh well, there's a bundle of cash down the drain then.

There are a bunch of other live chat scripts available. Give them a try!

I already did - and PHP Live! was the one I chose and shelled out for. ;)

I hope they are not out of business either. In fact, my yearly support had just expired this last month so I just went and ordered the renewal after I read this thread. I want them to stay in business as I like their product. Of course I downloaded the latest version right away so I can install/upgrade it on my server. I opted for the purchased version originally, so I can't comment about problems with the hosted service that others mentioned earlier.
