Hi all,
I'm trying ot find info on options regarding PSPs. Googling so far only has yielded a lot of very biased opinions.
At lease I've been able to list some options. I have excluded some that require a US merchant location.
But surely there must be a reliable (unbiased) source of info regarding the various pros and cons of all these competing solutions?
The various PSPs I've found so far include:

www.paypal.com
www.protx.com
www.securetrading.com
www.worldpay.com
www.secpay.com
www.datacash.com
www.netbanx.com
www.2checkout.com
www.nochex.com
www.metacharge.com
www.MultiCards.com

Please advice if there is a good source of info on this!

We have experience working with 2checkout.com and were satisfied with their support and performance. Also they have no monhtly fees (some payment gateways charge monthly fees even if you have no sales).

Well sadly you are going to read mixed reviews on pretty much every processor you have listed. I'll share my personal experiences as just that, personal experiences ;)

PayPal
-------------------------------------------
I've been using paypal for quite a long time now (both for personal use, and now for business use). I have been using at a business payment method for over a year at this time and I can't report a single problem to date. Fees are acceptable for what they provide and it is more or less the "standard" out there as far as online payments go (excluding paying via plain credit card of course).

2CheckOut
-------------------------------------------
I have mixed feelings about 2Co; however, I do currently still use them. I have only processed a few transactions from them and they have gone more or less without problems. One thing I have learned about 2Co is not to count on when you are going to get your payment.

The very first payment I had to process via them was halted by an E-mail telling me they couldn't find records that I had ever actually paid for my account. I found this a bit odd as it took me no more than a minute to locate the transaction in my paypal account, but I replied within minutes with the paypal transaction number as well as a copy/paste of the transaction itself. After waiting a week I e-mailed them again to ensure they had recieved the information. I was finally replied to a day or two later that my account was in fact paid for and everything was set to go. Expecting payment that week I was met with $0.00 being deposited in the business checking account. I had assumed that it was simply because of the PayPal issue and moved on, the next week the same process occured. I contacted them again (without ever recieving a reply); however, the money was in fact deposited the week after that.

For their price they are pretty hard to beat as well, $49.00 one time fee with pretty high rates.

I am not sure if you are looking for a merchant account, but if you are I would suggest you take a look at CDGCommerce ( http://cdgcommerce.com/ ). They are the next step on my list for payment methods (will be implemented once the new billing system is in place and I am 100% sure they are who I will be using when that time comes).

*quick edit*

Anybody else open this thread expecting to read reviews on the PlayStation Portables? :emlaugh:

OK - good on you.

I'm still hoping for somebody to suggest a link with a comparison of options.

I'm particularly keen to find a PSP that supports both some affiliate program AND also has an auto-return ("back-link url") option upon successful payment completion. Paypal does not offfer any affiliate program (not yet at least).

Cheers,
Jaxz

Hello,

All of the following have some form of back-link URL

www.paypal.com
www.protx.com
www.securetrading.com
www.worldpay.com
www.secpay.com
www.2checkout.com
www.nochex.com

These 4 might, but I have no experience using them.

www.netbanx.com

You may want to add ccnow.com to the list. I've been using them since 2001 and I have no problems with them. Their fees though are a bit steep. But I'm settling for it in return for stability and ease of use.
