Hi there,

I'll be applying for a job that involves web/graphic design. The employer is requesting that I compose a resume and online portfolio.

What is the best way to do this? - How should I display my work, what'd be a suitable website format?

Should my online portfolio be clean and simple, or loaded with heavy graphics?

I'd like to impress the employer, but also have the website be user-friendly and professional.

The position is available for students aged 15-18. There's alot of competition, and only one candidate will be chosen. I don't think I'll have much of a chance, but by applying I'll have nothing to lose. Also, I am in desperate need for the $$.

If you are creating this portfolio in a short period of time, in my opinion the best way to go is to do something clean and simple, while very easy to navigate.

Something that showcases your work in the best way possible, and don't put everything in, just put yout best work.

Try to be more professional sounding that over excited or kiddish. =)

my 2 cents worth.

I agree, keep it simple. Remember that most people are still on dial-up connections and don't like to wait around for a lot of graphics, etc. to download if they are just casually browsing to a site. Not good for an e-commerce site.

Also, watch the spelling and grammar. That says a lot about the intelligence and care of the designer.

Good luck!
