TimPD 05-27-2002, 05:30 PM Managed = Meaning Kernel Updates, etc meballard 05-27-2002, 05:31 PM I'm sure that would depend on the price... Haze 05-27-2002, 11:47 PM Thats such a general questions. I mean its like asking, how many people would buy a coffee. Abu Mami 05-28-2002, 12:14 AM Originally posted by Haze I mean its like asking, how many people would buy a coffee. No, more like "How many people would buy coffee if someone poured it for you?". Other options might be if someone would add the sugar for you, stir it for you, and drink it for you. The big problem is that there is no set definition of what "managed" means. Each vendor defines it differently. insiderhosting 05-28-2002, 12:33 AM I also think that you should include what your definition of managed hosting is. But I also think that you should include some sort of timeframe to when something is requested to be installed, and when it is completed. Let's say I requested a kernel upgrade at 8am PST, I would like some sort of estimate on when it would be completed. If you told me it would be completed in a couple of hours, then that is great, but if you say that it will be completed in a week, then that is not something that people would obviously want, as timeliness is of the essence. -Steven TimPD 05-28-2002, 11:27 AM Of Course, There will be a time frame set. Managed Solutions is something that alot of people are looking for. People who are interested in managed services would buy managed services. People who are interested in unmanaged services buy unmanaged services. There is no point to this question. Managed server solutions are available from many companies and many people use them. |
