I think this would be a great idea, especially since there are talks of Microsoft with PayPal and eBay. I guess we'll have to wait this one out and see. :)

I'd switch over in a second, HOWEVER, I've been under the impression that it wouldn't be intended as a paypal killer, more as a supplement for their adsense/adwords customers.

For PayPal, being alone serving the whole world, makes the task tough and hard, and their policy more restricted. The online money transfer market can stand with tens of big companies, and therefore if Google came up with this project, exactly similar to PayPal idea, this won't be a PayPal killer, on the contrary, it will be a PayPal helper.

The situation is like one communication company serving a big country like USA, UK or Germany. You need 3 to 5 at least!

Think about it, how does it become good that PayPal is serving 100 million customers so far!!! I think it won't kill them if they serve the half of this number!

Its too early to comment that move. Its still not clear if they are really going to provide merchant services across the world.

this could be interesting, I heard rumors that google would be launching a online money transfer last year - google wallet.

Just a speculation, without any reasoning. google register a lot of domain names, even though they dont have any real interest in it.

They actually buy the domain names from the real owners..
This would be another successful step of google;'s dominance

They actually buy the domain names from the real owners..
This would be another successful step of google;'s dominance They don't buy domains from owners, they enforce their trademark to force people to transfer infringing domains.

Here is a slighly outdated list of Google's domains: http://blog.searchenginewatch.com/blog/txt/google_dom.html

I would welcome a 'G Wallet' service, and hope that they would pay Adsense payments through it and on a lower minimum payout, maybe $25 or $50.
