I had a customer who was visiting china and wanted to upload some pictures to his site via FTP. I can connect fine but when he tries to connect with WS_FTP he gets this error:

`connection timed out` and `blocking command in progress`

Is this because of the restricted access in China?

If so he needs to find a way to get the picutres from his friends computer in China to himself in Kentucky. The problem is he can't find an e-mail program that will take large attachments. I have suggested he zip the pictures up into acceptable files sizes and send them that way.

Anyone else have any ideas?

His area ip might be blocked.

China blocks a lot of things that leek the truth about their regime. I wouldn't be surprised if they blocked access to your server.

..is that the DataCenter your server is located blocks IPs coming from that region.

Wonder if they would reach your server formating the ip like? http://3522770891 anyone got a clue?

Some countries with repressive regimes block different ports, we have come accross this in the past.
