Hello,
I know it might sounds like a very open question but I would love to get your opinion on this matter!
My website is now getting between 1,500 to 2,300 unique users a day and starts to generate a nice page view per month, so I am wondering if I should stick to my actual way of selling Ads or moving to another level.
Currently, I am selling a static banner on my Forum index page but I am considering selling Ads on a CPM basis now...
what do you reckon? Should I use CPM? If so, how to evaluate the price?
Thanks in advance for any tips/comments.
Regards,
Ludo

You'd need at least 1,000 visitors a day to attract my attention. The question is, once visitors are there, do you want them to go away? Unless your website is about content and your goal is to sell advertising I would keep them there as long as possible.
My edit: Sorry, that was 1,000 a day, not 10,000. My brain is on holiday this afternoon.

Once they are there, they do visits several pages...
Anyway, I apologize if I do not get your point, but are you in favor of CPM or static banner?

always CPM or affiliate programs where you get paid for what your visitors buy :)

Actions speek louder than anything else. If your website was my target market. A cost per click campaign or an affiliate program that required action would be most valuable to me. Second best is a CPM. If you can promise my ad will be seen by so many people each month. If not then a static banner for a month.
So:
1. PPC or Affiliates
2. CPM
3. Static
And my point before is, what is the sole purpose of your website? If it is to sell something, you don't want them to go anywhere. Maybe a few Google ads at the bottom of the page so that if they do choose to leave, you at least get something out of it. The last thing you want is for people to leave and not buy anything because of someone else's banner ad.
That's all I was asking. What do you want people to do at your website? Buy or leave? (Being that leaving would generate ad revenue) Which is more profitable for you, or which would be your main source of revenue?
