Hi
I' looking to move my site away from where it is now.
We're looking into the reseller program at http://monsterhosting.ca/

Could people post their experiences / opinions about this host?

We're not huge or anything. We're would be hosting 4 domains to start, and our main concern is the stability of their network: emails and web uptimes.

Thanks!

There are also some fairly recent opinions about this host available via search http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php

They recently used a competitor's name in a google ad campaign, justified because they were doing 'research' - personally I don't buy it - but you can read the thread below and make your own opinions regarding their business ethics:

Oh and to clarify, I wasn't referencing that - there are fairly recent posts about this host's qualifications more along what the OP is requesting as far as information goes.

I don't see how this relates at all to the OP question.

If you read the whole thread we too are having Adwords snipped of our own company name. Again this sparked us to find out why. If someone did it to you would you not want to know why?

The answer is too straightforward for me to waste my time (and offend other hosts) by indulging in that kind of business... they use my name in the interest of drawing visitors to their site - simple as.

The OP said this: Could people post their experiences / opinions about this host?

I gave my opinion - don't see anything wrong with it

We did not use the company name in the Ad. Did you view the ad yourself or are you drawing conclusions based on what you think happened? Feel free to PM the original poster of the other thread to confirm that.

I didn't see your opinion you said...

"make your own opinions regarding their business ethics".

If anything your post would appear to be just an attempt at slander.

no I said:

and with regards to the other thread:

OP's original post:
I suppose I should be flattered...but.. does anyone else here get annoyed when a competitor uses your company name as an AdWords keyword? Seems like an unethical practice to me.

and your reply:
Sorry this was just a test we were trying, no offense was intended.

We just grabbed a bunch of hosts names from articles.

I have removed yours already

this is what i'm refering to

Can we get back to the OP's question please. If you have used this host, the OP would like to hear from you.

it would be more helpful to me if people discussed their level of service, not so much their marketing strategies.
Thanks to all who are steering the thread in that direction.
No thanks to those reading my question the way a lawyer would.

I'm leaving a hosting company that cannot provide reliable uptimes (search my posts to see which one if you're interested).
We don't have big bandwidth or disk space needs (we're independent artists), but we do use our email in a time-sensitive way.

I followed Plexi_Hosting's suggestion and found they recently had a hard drive crash on them. Have they built some redundancy on their system to try to avoid this kind of problem in the future? Are their uptimes what they claim to be?

We don't mind paying a bit more money if it means not having to wait 4 hours for emails, have our website down at all hours of the day, and not talk to people in tech support who cut and paste their answers.

thanks!

Hello daniel,

I am not sure why some of the comments raised in this thread even exist. However, my opinion of this host is a positive one. I know them well, and often refer clients that are looking for their specific control panel over to them. Heck, we share some clients and from the time I have spent personally on their servers, I can say they run a top notch operation (pretty darned good for a cpanel host :) - sorry Gary, couldnt help myself) - maybe one day they will see the light and switch to hsphere, but, in the interim, they are a premium cpanel provider and definately worth your consideration.

While I too have never had anything to do with them, I do belong to a couple forums that Gary from Monsterhosting belongs too and it seems he runs a good ship.
