Is the search function not working properly? I'm trying to search for information on ehandyman.net to see if anyone else is having a problem with them, and I keep coming up with dozens of sites that have nothing to do with ehandyman.net

If you find many posts, that means that ehandyman has posted in those threads :) Seems search is working fine.

Actually, not really at all.
For example:
Doing a boolean search (which should work) shows threads like this (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=490335&highlight=handyman.net) as a result, which, while handyman is in there, handyman.net is not.
A non boolean (standard) search shows threads like this (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=513965&highlight=handyman.net) as a result, which doesn't even have the word handyman in there. Apparently, it looks for the .net suffix separately from handyman
Even doing a search for "handyman.net" didn't pull up anything in the boolean search.
The search function has been problematic since the upgrade to 3.5.x. At one time I thought it was working, but apparently it's still malfunctioning.
Try this query on your favorite search engine:
site:webhostingtalk.com ihandyman.net
Brought up six results for me at google.

Yeah, but that defeats the purpose of the VB search engine :P
Not that it doesn't work, but it defeats the internal search purpose.
Yeah, but that defeats the purpose of the VB search engine Ah, but the VB search engine itself defeats the purpose of the VB search engine. Using an external search engine often comes closer to fulfilling that purpose -- but it still really isn't a perfect substitute, because not all WHT pages are indexed by Google or other search engines. Especially for very new posts, it won't return complete results as VB's search should be able to do. But having access to the complete index of posts isn't very helpful when queries aren't properly parsed anyway.

...a boolean search (which should work)...Boolean is still disabled for Registered members while we sort out a problem caused while searching.
