I'm trying to decide between going with Hostgator or BlueWho for a reseller account. They both offer the tools that I need at similar prices.

I'm trying to find out which one has the best service and reliability and would be greatful if anyone would give any opions or tell about their experience with either of these hosts.

Thanks,
John

Looks like i should add hostforweb.com to the list.

Thanks for any opinions.

Please post your hosting requirements. Bandwidth, control panel, storage space etc.

Also one thing to look at is Hostgator does not allow overselling on their reseller packages, so you would not be able to host as many sites as you would be able to at BlueWho

Your exact requirement are not clear but I suggest to check resellerzoom.com also.

I don't see a need to give my requirements since I'm asking about peoples experiences with these 3 hosts. But mainly what I'm looking for is:

Cpanel with Fantastico
Ability to have multiple IP addresses
At least 2G of space
At least 20G of transfer
Unlimited Domains
Unlimited Email accounts
Good Support
FP Extensions

For around $30

Thanks

Other than your 3 host I suggest resellerzoom.com. In $5 pm your requirements can be met.

Why don't you test their support asking them some questions, and also, you can use some of those free monitor sites for some days/weeks to see their uptime before to signup.

That is not a very accurate method. Most hosts do not host any client sites on the same server as their main website. They could have 100% uptime for their server and 50% uptime on their client servers.

If you could somehow get the IP address of the server you would be on then it would be a great method.

Been with Bluewho for over 2 years now and overall they have been great. Support is usually very quick and a lower then avg. percentage of what I call "cut and paste" answers (which for the most part are not = ).

Taken as a whole my issues have been minimal but then again I really don't run any very heavy duty traffic sites.

Having said that over the last 4-6 months or so service has not been up to norm. I've noticed an increased number of server slowdowns, e-mail issues and other problems that have made my sites unavaible. Most of the slowdowns are intermittent and only last for a few minutes at a time, but sometimes it goes for a few hours. I don't have stats but overall I feel the level of service has taken a noticable dip. I do think that this is pretty dependant on server (think the DC1 servers tend to be problematic b/c of datacenter issues).

Now I don't want to give anyone the impression that things are falling apart over at Bluewho but there is enough concern at my end that I'm at the stage of looking around for a new host. As it is I'm being constrained by the resources offered and I'm having trouble justifying more money for lesser service and getting fewer resources.

There are dozens of web hosts that would meet your requirements.

1. Always do a search for reviews
2. Contact the web host to test their response timing.
3. Make sure they offer a money back guarantee and read their terms of service to make sure in case you need your money back, you will get it back.

Take a look at Dotable or Resellerzoom, do a search and you will find plenty of positive reviews on them. Best of luck with your search :)

I talk to quite a few people that are happy with HostGator. I have heard great things about both.

With reseller hosting, the sales rep knowledge and ability to assist when issue arise is one of the most important things. My rule is.. with hosting.. its not if its going to go down, but what happens after it goes down. A good sales rep can do wonders for a reseller.

I would see which one offers you the greatest level of comfort. Both will be priced competitively... Both have a good reputation in the industry.. Hostgator a little better...
