Havent used it ourselves yet though. spartner 05-25-2002, 05:06 PM Yes, http://www.clickchatsold.com is a pretty good deal (FREE), but after testing it for few minutes I found that the client chat crashes if you close the window on IE 5.5 and IE 6.x. On Netscape 4.5, the client chat window does not open after clicking the image. Anyone else fond similar issues? GetSupport 05-25-2002, 05:54 PM Please, forgive my partner! I do not think he was trying to promote our company, but to give a demo of ClickChatSold.com! Which you are all welcome to test, at your will. Just for the records. We have not experienced any big problems, we did have one problem, where one person could not use it for reasons unknown, but other than that we have not had any problems with it. We really like it, and recommend it to everyone. The one downside is the limit to simultaneous operators which is 3 at any given time, but that should not be a problem for most hosting companies, and is very nice considering it is 100% free! k6cheung 05-25-2002, 08:31 PM Originally posted by spartner Yes, http://www.clickchatsold.com is a pretty good deal (FREE), but after testing it for few minutes I found that the client chat crashes if you close the window on IE 5.5 and IE 6.x. On Netscape 4.5, the client chat window does not open after clicking the image. Not only that, it won't support NS 6+ browsers (which is the case for MANY ,if not all, java applet based software) But don't worry, a new release is coming out to fix ALL those problems =) Incognito 05-25-2002, 08:49 PM Does that mean the most chats you can conduct at one time is 3, regardless of how many hosting companies you are providing support for? mindboggle 05-25-2002, 09:14 PM Thanks for the replies everyone. So the only "good" support chat system out there is Human Click? Can anyone add any other systems? k6cheung 06-07-2002, 03:04 AM Originally posted by mindboggle Thanks for the replies everyone. So the only "good" support chat system out there is Human Click? Can anyone add any other systems? I didn't say clickchatsold.com is not good, it's just the old version doesn't support NS6. The new version just came out yesterday and it supports IE4,5,6 & NS4,6 browsers. Also won't crash browsers like it did before. :D eHostPros 06-07-2002, 06:23 AM Hi, We use phplivesupport.com, its nice and has some good features we like, and does not crash so much, you get unlimited chat widows and operators and its php based. The site is at: http://phplivesupport.com Best Regards -Rupi vgnosal 06-07-2002, 07:54 AM I know one of the php chats has a feature in which you can have your users send messages when you are offline and it will appear in your ICQ notices. Another good thing is if you have staff members doing the tech support for you, there are different levels for each staff member..for example, ADMIN obviously has more features and one of the best is that they can view a log of the staff members support to the clients to make sure they are not playing games.heh...just a thought if you were interested in such a chat system.. SoftWareRevue 06-07-2002, 08:43 AM Originally posted by eHostPros Hi, We use phplivesupport.com, . . . . . . . . . . . We *used* to. But, it can be quite annoying to visitors that have to hear sounds as it refreshes constantly. Not to mention; the company won't let me upgrade the product and won't tell me why. spartner 06-07-2002, 01:13 PM After a looking at lots of services. I started using Get 1 on 1 (http://www.get1on1.com) and they are free, clean and easy to use. I did not want to use Applets on the client side and wanted a browser solution for the support side. spartner, MCSD spartner 06-07-2002, 01:20 PM Oh........I forgot another good one if you want to buy and run it on your IIS/ASP server is Absolute Live Support at http://www.xigla.com/absolutels/ Looks good and costs $150, though I've not installed myself. spartner, MCSD k6cheung 06-07-2002, 01:49 PM a Marty 06-07-2002, 02:40 PM Rumor has it that clickchatsold will not be free much longer. Don't know how true this is, but I would advise people to beware before going to the effort to get setup for it. ljprevo 06-07-2002, 03:15 PM You can see a demo of Click Chat Sold by going here: http://www.clickchatsold.com/pro_demo.html I am impressed. HostingDirect 06-07-2002, 05:19 PM Look over the License agreement very carefully before you buy or shall I say lease PHPLiveSupport. Their site leads you to believe that you are buying PHPLiveSupport for $99.95 but when you get to the small print on the order form it outlines the 12 month license agreement to use PHPLiveSupport on your site. If you would like to continue using the s/w then it will cost you an additional $99.95 for every additional year after. I am not very excited about leasing their code, if I am running it entirely on my server then I would expect that I am buying it to own. ljprevo 06-07-2002, 05:29 PM I agree with you Curt, these renew things don't see fair to me. If I had to lease every piece of software on my servers I would be out of business. I will never support time leased software! k6cheung 06-07-2002, 06:00 PM Originally posted by HostingDirect Look over the License agreement very carefully before you buy or shall I say lease [b]PHPLiveSupport.
