hi I got a couple of emails of my system alert (rh 7.2) with this line:

does somebody know what this could be?

Nothing to be worried about.

I cut/paste the below from a website.

When nothing has been logged for 20 minutes, the system writes a `MARK` message
to show that everything is still running. This is basically to deal with when a
server dies - the administrator can look in the messages file and get a rough
idea when the crash took place, by looking at when the mark messages stopped.
